Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Man, thinking back on bets, I lost out on 400 and another 100 from stiffs never paying.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Yeah I actually never pimped my LOD team but I'll say here I'll make the playoffs. Fun LOD fact: there's still a few RP on the board that I tried trading 2nd round draft picks for and got rejected..Lol..I'm not a fan of that league at all. That league is vastly different than anything most of us have ever been in before. The value of a decent RP has solid trade value, and rightly so. With talent being spend so thin, a late round pick in a 20 team league can have a fairly decent impact in the LOD.

You're basically all in though. - no top-200 prospects - only a 3rd, 4th, and 5th in next year's draft - Alcides Escobar is your youngest hitter, and he's 29 this season - Mat Latos is your only SP under 30 Things are going to get ugly in Philly.

I wouldn't be surprised to see massive turnover in the LOD over the next couple seasons. There are going to be many who get discouraged at the idea of having to do a rebuild that mimics a real life time line, rather than the typical 2 or 3 year rebuild in 20 team leagues.

I meant make playoffs in this league. I think I'll compete for WC spot in LOD tho

I actually don't think connorp will quit though. He's definitely going to have to rebuild.

BTS Community Moderator Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I hate being in the West, you folk have it easy. We get the AL Central, which is awesome.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Yeah I don't plan on quitting. Id never involve myself in a similar league though. I was actually even hesitant signing up for LOD bc of the concept but tough to stay out when all the good members were doing it.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) There's three keys to rebuilding in this league: 1) Trade off older players for draft picks or prospects while they still have value. 2) Use your roster as a trading desk, adding and stockpiling players who may have value a month or two down the road. 3) Understand value cycles. Picks are worth the least at the beginning of the season, and worth the most during the draft. Then you can still enjoy the league, by having a nicely stocked farm (would be better if we could go past fifteen) to keep an eye on, and scooping up the occasional free agent to help build more value to trade for picks. Edited February 5, 2016 by AdamGreenwood Really bad grammar

You traded your most valuable chip or one of, before the season even started. Probably shouldn't be giving out value advice..

He just had the best regular season record by a large margin in a 30-team league. He knows what he's doing.

He might be, just looks like he put himself behind the 8-ball with that move. He pretty much has to sell his specs as well, if he wants room to reload his farm.

He did a tremendous job in the LOD, but a mediocre job in the BBDL. Granted the LOD was a massive showing on his part and the BBDL was a re-draft among 4 abandoned teams.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Ok. 1sts? Or whole draft slots?
