Of course you do, your algorithm only concerns itself with the what and ignores the how.

100 mph fastball is a nice how.

Yeah, I strongly considered one of those OFs, but given his proximity to the majors, I didn't think Manaea would make it to my next pick.

There's something to be said about sticking to your guns and taking your dude, even if you have to reach a little. If you make a mistake, you can learn from it, but if you scooped everybody else, you get to brag about it for years.

Quick clarification: If a player has not played an MLB regular season game, but they HAVE played an MLB playoff game, are they eligible for this draft?

Dinger wants 77 wRC+ in AA and and 69 in A+ guy in 2nd round everyone!

Manaea’s four-seam fastball doesn’t always have consistent velocity, but on the best days it will touch 97 mph and sit 92-94 with plane and run. - Dec 1, 2015

Sounds like a 60 to me, not an 80.

You couldn't pay me to own that player, I just want to know if he's eligible.

Manaea is very divisive. His peripherals are excellent and speak to a top-of-the-rotation potential, his ballpark situation is ideal, and by all accounts he has a starter's arsenal (something like 60/55/55).

But many mentions of him are unexpectedly lukewarm. BP and BA both didn't even put him on their midseason top 50 lists.

I own him in the DDL and have included him in a lot of trade offers, but nobody seems to care about him.

Who cares that "his delivery is stiff" or whatever when he gets results? Maybe it's just the injuries and lack of 2015 workload that kind of holds him back in perception.

I think it's the volatility in his stuff. He dominated the Cape Cod league a few years ago and got pegged as the 1st overall pick, then his stuff wasn't nearly as good the next season in college and his draft stock slipped. It's the same thing now, sometimes the stuff is more pedestrian and sometimes he looks like a TORP.

FWIW I thought the Royals were idiotic to trade Manaea for 1/3 of a season of Zobrist. Turns out I was wrong, but that's what I thought at the time.

Guy is a 60 hit, 60 speed, 50 power sure-thing MLB shortstop whose tools have been positively buried in an ostensible sense by perplexing assignments from his team.

The kid has been 5 years beneath the league average age at every level.

A potential star, hiding in the shadows.

He's the same age as Mazara, but Mazara actually hits. I prefer prospects who marry ceiling/tools with production that is actually good (or at least respectable) for their age level. I have always been the low man on that guy, though, whatever his name is this year.

Hey, if you wanna trade him to me I'm all ears.
