Do we even need a poll for the categories? I don't think anyone has objected to just using the DDL categories. The only question was SB or net SB

So basically:

H or AVG

SB or net SB

njh's new rule or no (and if yes, maybe a second vote for how many spots would be flexible)

combining rule V and rule IV or no (not sure if this warrants a vote, just threw it out there for discussion before the poll happens)

I seem to recall Net SB not even being an option in Yahoo, last I checked.

I'd like 3-5 or something.

Do we even need a poll for the categories? I don't think anyone has objected to just using the DDL categories. The only question was SB or net SB

I'd really prefer average to hits and I've long been in favour of net sb

Posted
So basically:

H or AVG

SB or net SB

njh's new rule or no (and if yes, maybe a second vote for how many spots would be flexible)

combining rule V and rule IV or no (not sure if this warrants a vote, just threw it out there for discussion before the poll happens)

AVG

Net SB

Love NJH's keeper suggestion and how he outlined it is perfect imo

I like having them separate tbh. Prioritizing is already possible for those who want to do it via pick swaps. I always maximize MiLB picks at the expense of waiver when I can.

Otherwise things are looking good. Is it OK to have other members in this league on ignore and I guess just forgo any potential trade talks?

So many interesting rankings, going through my initial draftsheet. Who ya got?

1) Trout or Harper?

2) Votto or Miggy?

3) EE or Abreu or Davis?

4) Altuve or Kipnis?

5) Seager or Bogaerts or Lindor?

6) Arenado or Machado?

7) Pollock or Betts?

Trout

Miggy

Davis

Altuve (Kipnis not even close!)

Boogers

Machado

Betts

...

Catcher is a total clusterf*** after Posey. d'Arnaud and Grandal might round out the top 3 in a dynasty draft. Lucroy? Martin and McCann are both very old now.

Does Schwarber hang on to C eligibility for more than 2016?

Blake Swihart in the top 10?

...

Lots of young players to reach for. Guys like Seager, Lindor, Odor, Russell, Buxton, Bird, Conforto, Turner, Severino, Nola, Joe Ross, Norris, Rodon...

Age based reached were the most common mistakes in the DDL/BBDL/LOD drafts, probably.

Posted
I'm surprised to see you pick Boogie over Seager. I have Grandal and Lucroy as my 2/3 currently, but I haven't ranked Schwarber yet and I'm not sure I'll rank him as a C.
Posted

In theory, if we finalize the top 20 players, set up the league in Yahoo (or wherever), and set the draft order, we could be trading picks on Christmas.

Are we going to do a separate MilB and MLB draft?

Posted

Separate drafts has worked really well before, and since this is a clone league, that seems like a given.

Yahoo doesn't open til late February unless something has changed.

I love Seager but at 21 in AAA he had a 106 wRC+; I expect him to spend the next year or two as a below average MLB hitter, much like Bogaerts was. So give me the guy who will be better right now.

Where does Kang slot in?

Posted
I don't have Kang in that tier. Kinda funny considering I was the high man on Kang coming into the year and several of you scoffed at me when I traded up to take him in the waiver draft.

I think we could just always have a prospect roster of 15. So the people that decided to keep 20 MLB players and only 12 prospects could theoretically trade for some over the season and end up with 15 by the end of the season.
