nextyear Verified Member Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Once we chinch I think we need to give kawasaki some reps. Barney is the better player but not available for the post season. I like everyone else hope he isn't needed or seen anywhere near the playoff roster but if he somehow is I don't want him to have gone over a month with out seeing live game pitching. Even if we hope it never happens we need to be ready if it does. I completely agree on all points.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 I completely agree on all points. Except for the spelling of clinch.
EMK19 Verified Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Pennington's been horrid from the right side of the plate, I think he still has only one hit as a jay as a RH hitter, seems tolerable enough from the left from a defensive specialist/utility perspective though... I know Barney's not going to see the postseason but surely he's worth a couple starts over Pennington with a lefty on the mound? Certainly appreciate Pennington's versatility and experience though.
500LevelSTH Verified Member Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Pennington career BABIP .295 With AZ this season .309 As a Jay .146, .154 in Sep. Small sample but still enlightening.
nextyear Verified Member Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 This is very old news (3 weeks old) but Cliff Pennington signed with the Angels on November 17th for $3.75 million over 2 years - http://www.torontosun.com/2015/11/17/pennington-leaves-blue-jays-to-sign-with-angels I appreciate Cliff Pennington's stay on the Blue Jays. He came in, didn't cause any clubhouse problems and played ok defensively when needed.
nextyear Verified Member Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Weak thread bump. Not really a bump. I just don't remember seeing this information being posted and didn't know where else to put it. However, in 2016 if Pennington plays well on the Angels we can continue to appreciate him
