Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 I'm completely comfortable with the Jays going up against any of the Wild Card teams not named the Yankees. I almost hope the Twins get in, bounce the Yankees, and then show up back in Toronto for another one-sided beatdown. Feel the same. Yanks will get too many calls and what not. Add to that I can't for the life of me stand their fans. Want them one and done in the WC.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Harper and Papelbon got in a fight in the Nats dugout. Twitter blowing up I have no idea what happened, but f*** Papelbon.

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Wishlist: ALDS: Astros ALCS: Royals WS: Pirates EXACT SAME FOR ME! I really want the Yanks out in the WC game. Takes heaps of pressure off.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 I'll go ALDS: Twins ALCS: Rangers WS: Mets
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Man, the Rizzo, Bryant, Schwarber, Arrieta, Lester core is ridiculous.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I have no idea what happened, but f*** Papelbon. It was completely Papelbon's fault, so this works.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Arrieta goes deep to right centre lol.
baubau Verified Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Man, the Rizzo, Bryant, Schwarber, Arrieta, Lester core is ridiculous. Don't forget Russell. Not putting up the numbers as the other hitters but still a solid controllable player putting up 2.5 WAR this season.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Don't forget Russell. Not putting up the numbers as the other hitters but still a solid controllable player putting up 2.5 WAR this season. Yeah. Possibly Soler too if he can figure things out.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Yeah. Possibly Soler too if he can figure things out. 2 years ago people called it the NL Comedy Central Now it's the toughest division in baseball
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 OMG Arrieta 3 IP 0 baserunners 6 K and he's hit a home run himself. Not bad so far. LOL
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 3 IP 0 baserunners 6 K and he's hit a home run himself. Not bad so far. LOL He's putting on a clinic. Unbelievable.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Damn those were two bad strike calls on Arrieta.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Don't forget Russell. Not putting up the numbers as the other hitters but still a solid controllable player putting up 2.5 WAR this season. Baez. Edwards?
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Baez. Edwards? Baez is awful.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Baez still has potential. Insane bat speed. Not sure how he can't catch up on stuff.
baubau Verified Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Does anyone else like the pitch tracker on ESPN more than sportsnet or is it just me?
43211234 Verified Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I'll go ALDS: Twins ALCS: Rangers WS: Mets I disagreed with Mets on first glance but agree upon considering the alternatives. The five teams at the top are great but the rest of the NL suxxxx.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 There goes the no hitter, now win Pirates, godammit.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Pirates better study Arrieta well or they're not getting out of the wild card game next week.. suddenly, it's realistic to think the Cubs have a shot to go very deep into the postseason.. hopefully no Steve Bartman-types pop up.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 The only teams worse than the Astros on the road this year are the Braves, Phils, Reds, and Marlins. Crazy. The Astros have an identical home record as the Jays (53-28) but are absolute trash away from Minute Maid. Their last seven are on the road, so they'd better step up it and fast if they're going to maintain that threadbare Wild Card lead.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I actually think the Astros could be pretty dangerous in the playoffs. Legit ace in Keuchel, followed by McHugh, Kazmir, and McCullers. Pretty deep pen, albeit one without an elite arm. And their lineup should be 9 deep, with enough talent to explode in any given game. I like them more than KC and LA.

I'd actually prefer they kept up the freefall to open up the last playoff spot for one of the mediocre-tier teams just below them (Twins or Angels).
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I feel we would sweep the Astros without much problem. They might steal one. I dunno, a lineup with Correa, Gomez, Altuve and Springer is capable of winning a 7-game series against anyone. Especially if Dallas Keuchel starts 2-3 of them.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I feel we would sweep the Astros without much problem. They might steal one. well now we're getting swept by the stros for sure
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 How can anyone look at a team whose first two guys will be Dallas Keuchel and Scott Kazmir and then say, "yeah this should be no problem"? The only chink in the armour is that Keuchel might not arrive until game 3, depending on which day the ALWC is scheduled.
