pat_borders Verified Member Posted February 8, 2015 Author Posted February 8, 2015 so many threads sorry bro, I'm lost on Sundays without football...
pat_borders Verified Member Posted February 8, 2015 Author Posted February 8, 2015 Gibbons will be the first to go if this team struggles. it amazes me that he's still here...I never understood it, just accepted it
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Changes the month to "February" and add "pat_borders" to the list. #FlawlessVistory.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Whatever happened to Pat Borders anyway, the guy just kind of went MIA There is always someone to blame. Goins will be in the minors; Saunders and Reyes on the DL, and you can't blame Gibbons for have a below replacement level team on the field. add AA and Rogers to the list. Dickey AA Rogers Mayas Dominicans *
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Whatever happened to Pat Borders anyway, the guy just kind of went MIA He played baseball until he died of old age.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Whatever happened to Pat Borders anyway, the guy just kind of went MIA He has 8 kids...he's long dead inside. I actually read something recently about how his kids are all done baseball now so he took a job as a minor league manager.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Goins I don't get the Goins votes. If Goins is playing, the anger will/should be displaced to anyone who is responsible for writing his name on the lineup card or the guy responsible for not putting someone better on the 25 man. Expectations of Goins should be so low now that you can't be angry that 80% of the time he's making outs.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 and OP (Borders) the guys are right. Keep the new threads to a minimum. Most times you can find a spot on another thread. That's not to say don't start new threads. Just think about them before doing so. Moderation duties done!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Previous years: 2014 - Rasmus 2013 - JP 2012 - Farrel I like this thread actually It's usually a surprise, so hard to answer. LOL
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 I'm gonna say Dickey unfortunately. I don't think he'll be terrible all spring, but a few bad starts in a month look awfully bad on him somehow. It's just that his bad games look sooooo bad. The home runs, the walks, his body language, etc...
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 it amazes me that he's still here...I never understood it, just accepted it Gibbons is easily the best manager this team has had in years... So... y'know...
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I can agree w/ this. In other words he's better than Gaston and Farrell. That was what I meant...
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Reyes has provided 5.4 WAR in 1074 PA and projects for 3.0 this year. He's so bad I hate him!!!!! and he's had very little love over those 2 years so I don't expect that to change if the Jays are struggling at points this season. I will say that he is one of those guys you watch and think "how are his defensive metrics just below average" as he looks much worse than that. Still, he doesn't deserve any s*** he takes from Jays fans.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 He's like a 7M/WAR player. His contract is probably in line with his worth.

The home runs, the walks, his body language, etc... yeah Dickey's body language is bad when things aren't going well for him ... has "the look of defeat" on his face ... also some fans don't like that the team has been carrying a light hitting personal catcher for somebody who's not an ace.

Look of defeat and like he's mad and "how did that happen" incredulity at times

BTS Community Moderator Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Look of defeat and like he's mad and "how did that happen" incredulity at times I thought I'd love watching him, but I really, really don't. It's just so ugly when things go wrong - people start laying off the knuckler, the walks start, and then Dickey goes back in the zone and gets taken deep. He gets that stupid defeated "how could this happen to me" look on his face, and leaves the game with 3 ER in 6 innings after cruising through 5. I appreciate the overall contribution, but watching him pitch is tough.
