Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 The playoffs will be easy to make
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 you lost me at "Leafs good young team". everything else is looking good though.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Leafs suck what are you talking about lol? No they don't douche, Sens or Hab fan?
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 All starts with good a management in the offseason & drafting.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Leafs are a low-ranked playoff team in the Eastern Conference...which makes them an ok team. On a side note they have to re-do the point system and win-loss format. I get aneurysms every time I look at the standings and everyone is "over .500" except for Buffalo and Edmonton. One of the reasons why I almost exclusively watch playoff NHL now. I can't stand this win and "kinda won because we lost in OT/shootout" ********. I like it when teams try to win in the third period.

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 Also gotta love the NBA...the four other teams in the Raptors division are a combined 18-52. Why can't the Jays get that type of luck?
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 you should lose a point for a tie. I'd prefer 3 points for a regulation win which is what people have talked about for years, makes total sense and is implemented in other sports which have a similar type of points system...but this is the NHL we're talking about... They should thank their lucky stars that hockey is so popular in Canada and the northern half of the US, because the NHL is a stupidly run league...and this is coming from a baseball fan who has lived through the Selig legacy of the post-steroid witch hunt where the best players of his era are practically barred from the HOF.
Travis_Snider Verified Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 leafs are solid idk what the f*** some of you are talking about. Goaltending is somewhat of an issue but the leafs are a playoff team like it or not.
Travis_Snider Verified Member Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 things are looking up indeed.

Goaltending is somewhat of an issue but the leafs are a playoff team like it or not. Thats probably why the team is going no where. They are a wildcard playoff team because they have a good ground of forwards and their bottom 6 have played really well. That is one of the worst positions to be in this year considering the draft. The Leafs will need elite talent to get to that PIT/BOS/Elite West level. Well its is a lot harder to get elite talent picking 17th overall than top 5 so they likely will be on a treadmill of playoff team but not good enough to be a contender with this core.

Rogers, in general over the last few years have been focusing on all sports; as a blue chip piece being used to entice people into keeping their cable subscriptions. Regarding hockey; NHL center ice rights were given to Rogers, and there is a current court battle on the matter having been launched by the other Telco’s. They feel it is unfair Rogers has certain features unlocked for only their customers. This, and other pieces of information available; coinciding with the events that have transpired over the past few days;would lead us to believe that the blue jays will push for one of the best pitchers available, by trade or free agent signing. Signing a tier - two free agent pitcher (I personally like this move) doesn’t really fit Rogers MO. This move would be used to attract attention to the brand itself. I also am starting to believe that AA was on a leash the past few seasons by one, if not multiple branches of Rogers’s executive structure. I am so f***ING HAPPY about how this offseason has transpired. The Blue Jays have cleared up enough money under their internal cap to make the above a reality (and more with a Navarro trade). If the Blue Jays were to land a high end SP; find a minor BP upgrade; and an upgrade or contingency plan at 2B …………
