The Angels are 30-14 at home. That's the best home record in the major leagues.

Mostly padded by wins against the dregs of the AL, such as Texas, Houston, Cleveland, Tampa and Chicago, teams well below .500(32-11 vs. them) The team's 18-25 vs. above .500 teams. And they need SP badly.. a backend of Skaggs, Shoemaker and Santiago won't cut it in meaningful games in September and October. The A's getting Hammel and Samardzija was a major blow to the Angels.

What is that supposed to mean? How Janssen performed in this game has nothing to do with his production going forward.

Looking at the bright side :D

f*** off

This team is pissing me off

I know the recent slump is driving Jays fans a tad bonkers but we need to put this in a bit of perspective to preserve some sanity. The Oakland Athletics have the best record in MLB, they are patient at the plate (low strike outs, high walks, good OBP etc.), they have good pitching (just got really better), and they are fielding well. The Jays have been dealing with quite a few injuries to key players and their pitching is not as good. To expect the Jays to win, much less take the series again, as they currently are is really unrealistic. We do not know how long Encarnacion will be out, Lawrie will most probably not be back till August, Lind is being forced to play with his injury because of a lack of options, and Bautista is not 100% as yet - That's a lot of hurting going on there all at the same time. The Jays are really in a tough spot right now and solutions are not readily available. It is easy to suggest the FO goes out and get good players but at what cost. Every GM knows the situation the Jays are in and as such know, with respect to trades, the Jays are operating from a disadvantaged position. The bottom line is the cost will be high so its a case of whether the asking price is too steep or whether risking the future of the team is worth a gamble - the holes are plentiful at this point.
