Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 He's 7-foot tall calling a strikezone only midgets can hit Maybe he thought every batter was Pedroia?
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Every game at Yankee Stadium is literally a freak show. It's not even baseball (4 hour games, illegal dimensions, f***ed up strike zone)... The so called "magic" is created by umps.
Nabru Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I don't know. If I just performed that poorly of an umpring job in an MLB game, I'd be pretty embarrassed to show my face again. But I'm sure he thinks he was fine and will go to bed easily tonight. Only one response to him after tonight's disaster: eat s*** motherf***er.

Let's hope tomorrow's umpire will call a better strike zone. Although in reality, we had no shot to win this game with Tanaka pitching(ask the other 9 teams who've lost to Tanaka this year!) Just be glad that we haven't had a spectacular collapse like the Detroit Tigers, who have collapsed due to terrible pitching.
labadee Verified Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 missed the game.. seems to me the umpires gifted the NYY? Or am I overstating it
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 All this thread is, is whining about borderline pitches and umpiring, rather than a baseball thread. Pathetic. And all you are is a bottom feeding trash-tier troll that tries way too hard to get a reaction. There's absolutely nothing to speculate or judge with bias here, the Pitch FX data shows clear as day that there was a very visible disparity between the pitches the Jays got and the pitches that the Yankees got. A pitch that is a foot below the strike zone isn't a "borderline pitch", and if it were as grey as that, then both teams would have gotten the same calls. There are a ton of occasions where people on this board over-react and flip out over minute and insubstantial things (which, apparently you don't seem to have a problem with, since you've never commented on that), but this is far from one of those situations. People have a very legitimate reason to be frustrated here, and the fact that you chose to drop your miserable self by just to tell people they're pathetic for feeling that way, proves that your only purpose on this board is to bait and instigate a reaction out of others, making you the epitome of an internet troll. Try harder.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 So good framing? Are you Jordan Baker?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Even Yadier Molina couldn't have framed most of those for strikes
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 What a s***** graphic. Where is this from? Is this from mlb itself? It doesn't even have a correct strike zone. An actual, correct strike zone goes to the bottom of the knees, not the top (changed way back in 1996, kids). Oddly enough, those 3 questionable strike calls are right there, at the bottom of the knees. Hell, it's even too low on the top end. http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/numlocation.php?pitchSel=547888&game=gid_2014_06_17_tormlb_nyamlb_1/&batterX=10&innings=yyyyyyyyy&sp_type=1&s_type=3&league=mlb That better, guy who is defending the indefensible? Another way of saying "borderline strike" is "ball", BTW. We have the technology to make "borderline strikes" a thing of the past, so we should use it.

Wilner gets a lot of flak, but look at the callers he often has to deal with. No matter what the situation is, there's always someone who has to panic, and think the sky is falling. Correctly pointing out the team would still be in first doesn't make him a dumbass.
