Jays: Happ has alternated good and bad performances in four starts since joining the rotation. He won despite a subpar outing Tuesday, giving up four runs and seven hits over five-plus innings in a 7-4 victory at Boston. With his single in the first inning Saturday, Melky Cabrera has now hit safely in 41 of his 49 games this season. Toronto has recorded an extra-base hit in 35 straight games, and the team leads the Majors in XBH in May with 93. They lead the majors with 69 homers and ranks near the top with 243 runs. The Blue Jays have also scored 28 times with 10 home runs during their five-game win streak. Athletics: Pomeranz has been spotless since replacing the ineffective Dan Straily in Oakland's rotation this season. The 2010 first-round draft pick has allowed eight hits with 16 strikeouts over 15 scoreless innings to win each of his first three starts. The left-hander gave up three hits over five innings in a 3-0 victory at Tampa Bay on Tuesday for his first road win since 2012. Although the A's lead the league with 247 runs, the AL West leaders have totaled 12 while hitting .175 in their last five games. With their loss Saturday, the A's are now 5-3 on their current road trip and have dropped three straight. They've lost only four games in the last 15. Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 No saves from Pomeranz? We've totally got this!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Roll the dice and see how Happ does today!!
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Ca mon Happ, please don't suck today. Let's go Bluejays.
Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 That 0.94 ERA is not sustainable obviously. Hope Happ does not gas can in front of a sellout crowd.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 That 0.94 ERA is not sustainable obviously. Hope Happ does not gas can in front of a sellout crowd. I'd love to see 3 good innings, 2 poor innings and an appropriately timed hook before he goes out for the 6th and explodes. And just hope that the bats can overcome the 2 poor innings.
LunchBox Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Basically every Jays game I've been able to watch in May has been a Happless start. At the very least AA has successfully despaired me.
GoldBull Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Zero faith in Happ today. Hoping I'm wrong!
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Happ might be the luckiest pitcher in the bigs right now. Those peripherals are disgusting.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 I'll take 5 innings, 3 ER from Happ today.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 I'll take 5 innings, 3 ER from Happ today. I'd take that ANY day, especially with a well rested bullpen like it is right now Thanks Dickey and Hutch!! Happ owes you one (or 5)

I would also love for a random gorgeous girl to randomly walk in my apartment and give me a blowjob. Neither is likely to happen though. Especially the Happ throwing a complete game shutout part.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Anyone going to the game? Spanky said he'd meet you at Baton Rouge at 12:00 and walk over with you
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 At least he's got Kratzy behind the plate to get him some freebies.
shortstop Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Only hope is Kratz & Happ locating... I sense the A's are gonna jump on him early...my guess 3 & 1/3 before Redmond pitches a few scoreless
kgm1 Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Battle of the walking lefties . Happ at over 5.5 BB/9 against the most patient team in the majors is like add gas to a fire. At the same time Pomeranz is over 3 BB/9 against the best offense in the majors . Bullpens will be busy and anyone going to the game can expect fireworks form both sides. Going to miss the game and will have to catch it on XM.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Spanky said he'd meet you at Baton Rouge at 12:00 and walk over with you He'll likely already be wasted by that time by downing 8 long island iced teas on the GO from Oshawa.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Great pic of the crowd! Gonna be a sellout!!

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Jeebus tapdancing Christ... That's 50,000 people piling in to the place!
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 That's 50,000 people piling in to the place! I've seen it before, not often (lately)... I was there for Alomar Bobblehead day, but didn't see it from that angle, obviously
