I think you need Tolleson AND another position player. If an infielder and an outfielder collide you have a problem unless Santos plays some defense.

the team has a short bench and Santos was a SS for years. he can run the bases any day he is not pitching and it gives the team another option with the short bench.

I agree totally. It's good management within the restrictions he has on the bench.

 

It'd be kind of cool if at some point they have Santos in to pitch with a lefty coming up to bat they move Santos to 2B for the hitter letting Cecil work his magic, then putting him back in to pitch to the next rightie. Entertaining as hell.

Just put Navarro on the DL and bring up Pillar or Gose. Simple solution. I just don't get keeping Navarro active right now... What's the harm in putting him On the DL when he's clearly hurt?

 

That should have been done days ago. Kratz and Thole right now would be totally ok. Is Navarro's bat that good coming off the bench and PH while he's hobbled? I Get that he's a switch hitter, but I don't think so?
