I take up like half of this list and your prospect model thingy hated me. 3

Lol spreadsheet drafting ftw!

Then you picked Tyler Biggs... :P

Interesting looking back at the prospect draft to see who is doing well so far.

Round 1: Hard to tell, but the Ehlers pick looks better and better. Same goes for the Duclair pick.

Round 2: Connor Brown is looking good so far. Same goes for Burakovsky. Again, hard to tell here.

Round 3: Dave Pastrnak looks like a potential steal this far down. Same for Dylan Larkin.

Round 4: Kevin Hayes also looks like a potential steal this far down.

Round 5: Hard to tell who is good so far.

Round 6: Brendan Leipsic looks like a good pick so far.

Round 7: Charles Hudon is looking really good this late.

Round 8: Damon Severson looks decent this late. Possibly the same for Calvin Pickard.

Round 9: My Buchnevich pick as well as the Shane Prince pick looking good so far.

Round 10: Jiri Sekac could look very good this late.

No mention of Connor Hellebuyck

Him, too. Though, for him and Pickard, it's difficult to predict goaltenders

Looking over the draft for goaltenders this year, it's interesting to see who got good value in the short-run:

Of course, this isn't age-adjusted (important for a keeper league), but interesting nonetheless.

who is the keeper up at around 12?

Carey Price

Edit: Also, I found that age was not a significant factor in where a goalie was picked.

The top 10 picks from the draft, based on the difference between the expected and observed total Z-score calculated by Yahoo (new feature), if this were a single-season league:

1. Nick Foligno (235)

2. Tyler Johnson (168)

3. Nikita Kucherov (232)

4. Alex Ovechkin (8)

5. Rick Nash (70)

6. Joe Pavelski (27)

7. Vladimir Tarasenko (80)

8. Filip Forsberg (222)

9. Andrew Ladd (117)

10. Ryan Callahan (194)

Some of the best players not drafted: Brock Nelson, Alex Tanguay, Travis Hamonic, Trevor Daley

Worst 10 picks (if you could call them that, since some of them are prospects who barely played):

1. Valeri Nichushkin (84)

2. Taylor Hall (11)

3. Cody Hodgson (129)

4. Mike Smith (97)

5. Teuvo Teravainen (102)

6. Nail Yakupov (62)

7. Ryan Murray (223)

8. Sergei Bobrovsky (38)

9. Dany Heatley (265)

10. Slava Voynov (201) (Technically, Voynov should be #1 since he's likely never playing again)

Also, it excludes the two dumn Ekblad and Drouin picks made by Wilko's computer since they were illegal

Cory Schneider in 6th! I remember someone criticizing my pick at the draft saying he was the 15th best goalie.

I remember that too. It was always stupid.

Brock Nelson might be my best FA pickup and that was already getting lucky with Tanguay and Daley.

That's the forward I forgot!

Devils are complete s*** but Schneider is so good that it doesn't matter too much. Makes up for the wins with being elite in the other cats especially Saves with goaltending is so hard to find.

The Craig Anderson trade I made has been massive for me. Obviously Nichushkin got a freak injury but I'd be nowhere without the deal.

Yeah, I really like Nichuskin, but having him on the DL all year has really sucked. I didn't expect to compete this year anyway, so I guess it's not that big a deal.

Looking over some of the team's total dZ, I'm surprised to see Wilko's computer-generated team (now NJH's team) having a positive dZ. He did better than BTS's team, which is shocking.

Of course, Wilko's team was terrible for the long-run, so there's that.

I see Wilko mking mves in another league, he always drafts well.

Except it wasn't him who actually drafted. It was his computer which, while he probably did pick the order prior (and forgot to remove Ekblad and Drouin), it was still the computer that picked for him.

Yea, he had basically no prospects or young players and had autodrafted a fringe playoff team. It would have been ugly after this year I think, but all of the vets made the 2014-15 production ok. Still might be ugly after this year!

anyone know what a full season of NHL game centre is worth? I went looking at prices, but they only have a half-season price up there.

I assume you can get a proxy server or something to be able to watch in market game (not that I've ever done that, but I assume its possible).

There is a cracked version of the NHL GameCentre app for Android, and ways to pirate the actual video feeds on computers as well.

Read through some of these threads, mainly the ones about VLC fix and VLC streams https://www.reddit.com/r/NHLStreams/top/

And pretty soon VLC will have ChromeCast support too.

I don't mind paying for a nice clean and stable feed (which I gather gamecenter is). I just hate the 'regional restrictions' bs. I definitely won't buy it if I can't watch every game I want.

If anyone knows that ta full season is worth, I'd appreciate it.

Those ^ free workarounds actually hijack the GameCentre feed itself

MY dad has a Rogers phone plan where he gets Gamecentre for free. It works just like MLB.TV. I enjoy it but am not sure on actual costs.

Do you mess around with trying to get around the regional restrictions? I'd be interested in knowing what is involved if you do.

Teams ranked by the differential between expected and actual total Z-score in terms of draft picks (if this were a single-season league):

1. Dwight Kings - 22.01

2. Little Wingels - 16.67

3. Hanson Bros. - 14.85

4. The Be Sharps - 13.22

5. Welsh Corsi - 11.81

6. Goldbull - 9.73

7. Spittin Teeth - 7.89

8. Wilko's Team - 6.24

9. We Stand On Guard - 2.27

10. Beer League Champs - 1.91

11. The True Red Wings - 1.64

12. Top Cheese - (-1.71)

13. Cooper's C-men - (-1.83)

14. The Cat's Asses - (-7.66)

15. Stall Tactics - (-10.42)

16. BOBROVSKY - (-14.52)

17. SHARKS TERRITORY - (-14.87)

18. Abomination - (-15.39)

19. The Scrote Squad - (-19.59)

20. Thunder Kiss - (-26.73)

Of course, the differential for this season doesn't mean that it will sustain itself in the long-run. Lots of trades, draft picks, etc. to come.

Shopping Lehtera and Stastny as a package for those playoff teams looking for a keeper upgrade injured or not or a keeper plus a pick upgrade

As usual Kunitz, Dion and Talbot are also on the block but I have a couple offers pending.
