Laika Community Moderator Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 It'll be interesting to see what GB can get for St.Louis and Streit. I had them on the block for a few weeks and had basically no legitimate offers. Only one person even seemed semi-seriously interested.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Holy s*** thats a big deal.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Rape for NJH. Twice this week.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Twice this week. Is Beau Bennett that good? I mean he would have been a borderline keeper for me and he wasn't even taken during the main league draft. Then again, what do I know about hockey
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Is Beau Bennett that good? I mean he would have been a borderline keeper for me and he wasn't even taken during the main league draft. Then again, what do I know about hockey Talent Analysis Bennett is an offensively creative winger who is most effective when the puck is on his stick. He has the ability to carry the puck up ice, run the powerplay from the half-boards, play the point, and possesses a hard and accurate repertoire of shots. He is also quite adept at creating open ice. "[bennett] is a guy who you maybe look to get opportunities to see what he can do in offensive roles," Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma said of the winger. "Not necessarily a guy who's going to race up and down the ice with his speed, but just his hands, his ability to create space, (and) ability to get his shot off is fairly evident in seeing him. You envision that in him as a pro player." Top 6 forward on the Penguins, soon.

Then again, what do I know about hockey He has 2nd line / power play unit upside which could mean great things in Pittsburgh, but injuries have really stalled his development and any type of reasonable outlook has him probably playing mostly 3rd line minutes in the short term (rest of this year + start of next year). The Pens staff talk about the creativity/offense that he brings to the 3rd line but also the defensive influence that he brings to the 2nd line with Malkin... who really knows. He'll probably just get hurt again and I'll end up cutting him after 2015/16.

I dangled guys like him and Coyle and nobody valued those guys at all in trades. I picked him up off waivers back in October. Nobody even drafted him during the regular draft. Knowing my luck though, probably comes back to bite me.

If he had re-curring injuries I could slap the prone on him, but....

He f***ed up his wrist that spread into a couple seasons, IIRC, he's basically getting his first real shot this season, I missed him on the wire amongst a handful of others....derp!
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 didn't realize we did that on PB midseason We don't. But that seems to be the only place people are posting them. I happened to login one day and saw a bunch of trades backlogged.

Including you as well I was trying to dangle some of my young guys like Bennett, Coyle, Nieto, Sekac and others and didn't get any interest whatsoever. Considering we only have 15 keepers, Bennett was on the borderline for me keeping. But yeah, NJH likely wins this deal in the future if he plans on keeping Beau.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 I've just added in waiver picks to the spread sheet. Remember, those are trade-able also.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 I'm guessing NJH is loving Parise right about now (even though he was talking smack about Parise to me last month). Just an underrated, borderline elite forward.
