f*** there was a unfortunate streak there that who ever went into his avatar box was either sent to Japan or Injured. ECJF Curse was likely stronger than the curse of the bambino.

Guy had huge potential when we had that monster rotation of Doc, Burnett, Marcum, McGowan, Litsch... One's now retired, one year from retiring, garbage, barely making a rotation, and complete trash.

Good for McGowan and hopefully he stays healthy, even if he pitches like a #5, then so be it, but it's a feel good story...at least for as long as it lasts.

 

 

I'd think they'll keep him around 75-80 pitches for the first few starts and piggyback him with Redmond/Rogers.

 

At some point, AA has to trade one of these relievers. Hopefully he gets 2 position players in return for one of them like he gave up to get Rogers, but I doubt it.

Zaun sez McGowan is the best pitcher in the organization. Doesn't like how Morrow reacted to complaints about his robustness, or how he acts in ST like he's guaranteed a job and doesn't have to work for it.

Zaunie caught McGowan may have something to do with his opinion. McGowan's stuff was considered comparable to Halladay's at the time.
