Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 (edited) This is bizarre and tragic, but it appears that our fellow poster, ace3113, may have passed away. After signing up for the Breaking Blue Dynasty League, ace was unreachable for several weeks starting in late December. Through Google, Northof49 was able to find several other online accounts under the screen name "ace3113", aka Peter Acevedo. http://www.chess.com/members/view/ace3113 Here is another one with the same picture, with baseball related music: http://blip.fm/ace3113 Sadly, Northof49 also found the following Youtube video, posted several days ago, which appears to be an obituary to one Peter Acevedo. Given his absence, and the video, it now seems possible that ace3113 has died suddenly. I hope this is a mistake, but the evidence seems to indicate that he may be deceased. If so, RIP ace3113. NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 RIP. We will miss you Ace.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 RIP Ace. We will never forget your contributions here.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I really can't process this. This is horrible. R.I.P. Ace/Peter. I really hope this isn't true but if it is, you'll be missed. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we'll miss his hilarious videos and his prospect reports and the cheeriness of his posts. Ugh. This is s*****.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Too odd to take for real unless confirmed more
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Author Posted January 18, 2014 Too odd to take for real unless confirmed more Unfortunately the obit video doesn't have a birth date. Maybe someone can message the guy who posted the video and ask? The birth date listed in the other profiles is Oct 13, 1978, which would make him 36... pretty much the exact age the guy in the video looks to be.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 There's no printed obituary yet so I like to think there's a chance it's a misunderstanding. JFaS, is the email you have for him the same as the one posted on this page? http://www.crestmontcountryclub.com/club/scripts/clubpers/view_clubpers.asp?SRC=L&PID=20453&GRP=12630&NS=GOLF&PT=G
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Awful joke. He is not/was Mexican.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Author Posted January 18, 2014 Awful joke. He is not/was Mexican. Hopefully it's just a very strange coincidence.

The man received more than a dozen shots while returning from shopping at a store, according to his family. Betty Andrade, mother of the deceased, said his son was murdered by unknown prevent robbed.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Author Posted January 18, 2014 Hmm, the ages don't match.

"His mother said".. idk. 12+ shots sounds like some sort of trouble the guy was in.. doesn't seem like a guy like Ace
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 So this was in Ecuador (maybe he was on vacation)? Very strange...
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 2 or 3 days ago I thought about him. I was/am anxious to participate in his South Park project

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Author Posted January 18, 2014 Angrioter, where did you find that info? I'm glad that it doesn't appear to be a match. Hopefully ace3113 is still alive and well.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 12+ shots is a gang or drug related murder (especially considering environment).. or possibly crime of passion if someone slept with someone's wife.. but more likely the former by far I would say. Not Ace
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Another Peter Acevedo https://plus.google.com/109015971330522721174/posts
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Author Posted January 18, 2014 Doesn't look like the video is the same person after all, although ace is still MIA. Hopefully he's just on vacation or something. Maybe a mod could change the thread title, it's a bit misleading in light of the obit info.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 This is Bizarre. Hope Ace is fine.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Author Posted January 18, 2014 How weird would it be to log in and see this thread about yourself? Extremely weird, although I guess that's preferable to him being dead. It is odd that he hasn't returned any emails or PMs in weeks, though.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Ace3113 is a very common nickname.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 How weird would it be to log in and see this thread about yourself? It was pretty weird seeing a "Where in the world is GD?" thread in the OT forum when I didn't post for like a month. Granted, the posts in this thread are rightfully a lot more endearing. I would hope Ace would see that we were worried and that we really do enjoy his posts quite a bit.
