jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Rays win! Jays stay 1.5 up on the O's.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Jays remain in 1st, but have more losses than the Yanks and have as many as the O's.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 David Ross solo shot, 1-0 Red Sox.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Harold Reynolds is so painful to listen to...but I can't stop listening.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 "If Ted Williams knew about OPS back then, his would've been even higher" - Harold Reynolds. You can't make this s*** up.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Soriano playing some awful defense in this game.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I think he means progressed to the mean. The 2 spot isn't important, just throw Zack Cozart in there or something. Now that's analysis.

Leaning forward and diving into the bag will get you there faster. There's no friction or speed loss if you dive right into the bag and not before, plain and simple.... but risk of injury goes way up.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 In the same sense that I can play left field; in that it's technically legal, I guess. JSFIP walks don't matter movement 2014 Fernando Rodney > Masahiro Tanaka

GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 OF, that's nothing. That last one is the BJMB special.

There's no friction or speed loss if you dive right into the bag and not before, plain and simple.... but risk of injury goes way up. I'm pretty sure this is incorrect unless you want to die. The beauty of first base is that you can keep running, thus not losing acceleration, once you dive, friction caused by sliding on the dirt causes you to slow down.

Nope, once you leave your feet you decelerate . http://espn.go.com/high-school/baseball/video/clip?id=6571277

guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 lol i was watching a little bit of the yankees/sox and reynolds was complaining about how errors should increase a players OBP. he said something along the lines of "brian roberts' speed caused drew to make an error but it won't show it in the box score"
