Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Ichiro is still good at catching the ball, goddamn that was nice
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Shame Tanaka will be pitching Tuesday. Even with the off day on Monday it would be nice to get deep in their pen. One note to consider is that Tanaka will be facing the Jays for the 2nd time. Last time he faced an opponent for a 2nd time, he lost (Cubs). And we did hit him a little bit the 1st time.. but McGowan didn't pitch well (when he was starting.)

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Lind and Rasmus back for Tuesday would be nice
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 It's OK 10-3 Oakland Ichiro can do whatever he wants.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Nice! Something that's not said ever on this forum and needs to be: the Yankees are bad. Just not a good team. The panicky folks would benefit greatly from understanding this. Their offense is very meh. Ellsbury and Gardner are decent/good, McCann and Solarte are okay, Tex is okay if healthy... and that's it. Team wRC+ of 91. We shouldn't be at all scared of them. Fangraphs has them as a .490 winning percentage team. Granted, the pitching is good with Tanaka and Kuroda, but those two can't carry the entire team. If they had signed Jubaldo Jimenez or Matt Garza instead of Tanaka, they'd probaby be sitting at 31-37 instead of 35-33 right now.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Oh, and Cleveland already beat Boston Sweet!!

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Losing both CC and Pineda really hurt them. I'm not worried about the Yankees at all. Pineda will probably be really good when he gets back Can they say the same about Sabbathia?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Meanwhile, Jesus Montero played 29 games last year, and ONE so far this year Holy shite, what a clusterf*** of a trade...
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Pineda will probably be really good when he gets back Can they say the same about Sabbathia? Most people thought he was going to be s*** when his velocity was down (including myself) but he was actually decent just unlucky to start the year. ( BABIP: 350, HR/FB 23.3%) His xFIP was 3.12 through 46 innings. I think he'll be useful once he returns.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 PD numbers are elite: 10.5 SwStr%, 70.3 F-Strike%, 34.4 O-Swing%. Those rates will make a pitcher very successful. CC can still get strikeouts, he doesn't walk many hitters, and he gets ground balls. Silly to think the bad ERA this year and in 2013 will continue. Absolutely.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Dammit JJ getting hit up Gave up 2 runs and left 2 on Melvin pulled him Game not quite over...
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Game over A's win f*** yes! 6/9 next games against the Yankees. Time to do some damage to their playoff hopes.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Buster Posey hit hard in mask for second time this week. Looked shaken up and was removed from the game.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 f*** yes! 6/9 next games against the Yankees. Time to do some damage to their playoff hopes. Ooh, I didn't realize Yeah, this would be a good time to get hot again
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Seeing as how the Off-topic thread was buried into non-existence, I'm just going to use this. Whatever happened to Arkadium, the poll guy? Anyone remember this? http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/710-What-do-you-miss-most-about-Brett-Lawrie
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Ouch! He's not afraid to offend people is he? LOL
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 No. KLaw tearing up Cameron's life's work lol. We all like projections but they're not facts you can just pull out to win an argument. He seems to be on the prowl extra tonight. Tore into the A's for giving Jeter's foundation $100k. Also ripping Doc and his Oreos variations golden flavoured (click on the link for picture showing Doc eating said cookies)

Running someone completely out of town for innocently trying to discuss different (sometimes a bit odd) baseball topics.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Keith Law must have had a bad Father's Day or something
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 That's what I was thinking. Although he spent yesterday shredding Jimmy Rollins. Friday he tore into Rick Reilly and Clint Hurdle. So maybe not Father's Day specific lol. He's right about what he's been arguing about nonetheless. Oh for sure he is It just seems like he's just taking this thing vs Fangraphs (and Doc's choice in cookies) to an unnecessarily personal nasty level "Cool story bro". What is he, a third-tier BJMB poster or something??
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Baltimore vs Tampa next Would like to see Tampa steal a couple
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 He had a tweet about how the A's should have donated to some local Oakland charity instead of Jeter's charity. I mean if we really want to get anal, why does the Oakland charity deserve to have donations more so than charities where people live in 3rd world countries? It's a never ending argument
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Bard's career has hit rock bottom: http://nesn.com/2014/06/daniel-bards-career-hits-rock-bottom-with-crazy-single-a-stat-line/ "Bard has faced 18 batters. He has issued nine walks and hit seven batters. In other words, hitters very rarely have had an opportunity to swing the bat. His two outs have come via a strikeout and a comebacker to the mound."
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 That was actually pretty awesome, seeing both of today's poster boys for scouting and sabermetrics get into it. Bard's career has hit rock bottom: http://nesn.com/2014/06/daniel-bards-career-hits-rock-bottom-with-crazy-single-a-stat-line/ "Bard has faced 18 batters. That was pretty hard to read. Always liked Bard. Had no idea he was struggling that hard now. I know this probably doesn't pertain, but f*** you Farrell. Oh for sure he is It just seems like he's just taking this thing vs Fangraphs (and Doc's choice in cookies) to an unnecessarily personal nasty level "Cool story bro". What is he, a third-tier BJMB poster or something?? That made me laugh.
