Yeah, I'm sure that there's nobody else who could ramble on like a senile old fart about irrelevant things.

Let me tell you how much pitch counts are stupid! Don't talk to me about pitch counts! So about pitch counts... - Tim McCarver

Last team to win Games 6 and 7 of the WS on the road after losing Game 5 at home: the 1952 Yankees, vs Brooklyn. Cards did it in '34 vs DET.

And yet St louis only gives 4.5: 1 odds to come back. People with large bank accounts should bet heavy on Boston

Yeah, I can't see STL winning this. No way.

The chances the cards will win are about 20%. Given roughly even chance of winning each game it would be 25%. So give Boston a bit of an advantage for homefield.

The chances a world series will be tied 2-2 are about 37% (6/16). half the time the home team will win game 5... or a bit more if there is home field advantage. So 19% or so of the time we have this situation.

Of that 18%, if 20% win the series, it's 4% of all World series would have such a scenario. You'd expect 2/50 years. So the fact that it hasn't occurred in 50 years isn't all that strange.

Yes. If you apply probability theory to it.. that's about what you get. Explanation above.

Also, was there a time MLB didn't go 2-3-2 in the World Series? There may have been times that games 6 and 7 were in different cities.
