Astros: Keuchel pitched a nice game his last time out, holding the Oakland Athletics to 1 run in 6 innings of work, only too see the bullpen blow the game resulting in a 4-3 loss Speaking about the bullpen, it's probably Houston's biggest weakness. Not only have they blown 15 games, they have given up 64 homers - the most of the majors (they have a 22 homer lead over the next bullpen). They are also credited with losing 24 games, leading to an MLB worst -3.8 fWAR. If they don't improve, they could be the worst bullpen since the 1996 San Francisco Giants when they put up a -3.9 fWAR Astros have a 4-19 record in their last 23 games played. Jays: Jose Reyes has been awesome, having 7 multi-hit games in his last 11 games. During those 11 games, he owns a .404/.472/.638 batting line with 6 walks, 4 stolen bases, and 2 homers Jose Reyes isn't the only player to continue tearing it up coming out of the ASG break, Rasmus (thanks to his 4/5 game) has bumped his average to .393 post-break! The Jays have dropped 10 of their last 14 at the RC Standings: http://i.imgur.com/HdBmtk9.png http://i.imgur.com/jw1eeET.png http://i.imgur.com/MhylouL.png Venue: http://www.andrewclem.com/Baseball/Diag/RogersCentre.gif I hope you guys enjoy the game and the GDT! Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 JJ last start with Jays uniform.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 JJ last start with Jays uniform. I wish... Hopefully today's game is just as fun to watch as last nights.
Caper Verified Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 As bad as this season has been. It is still good to finally see the whole lineup on the field at the same time.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I wish... Hopefully today's game is just as fun to watch as last nights. jays will win just enough games in the second half to end up with 15th pick next year
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 It's time to move Rasmus up... He's low because lefty. Time to bite the bullet and slot JPA in at #9 though.

I still don't mind our lineup. Just need to replace JP and hope lawrie gets going and I'm fine with it going into next year.. Would be nice to see melky get hot.

Would be nice to see melky get hot. It would be interesting to see Rasmus hitting 2nd instead of Cabrera, so what if he strikes out a lot, it means fewer GIDP than Cabrera.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 He's low because lefty. Time to bite the bullet and slot JPA in at #9 though. He's better against lefties than Lind.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Replacing JPA and finding a 2B would be enough for me. Lawrie is a big key for sure. I think at this point, a 2012 type year would be pretty good.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 He's low because lefty. Time to bite the bullet and slot JPA in at #9 though. Reyes Rasmus Bautista Encarnacion Lind Melky Lawrie Izzy JPA Just a dream!
Caper Verified Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 If JPA wasn't such a meatball off the field, people would have near the problem with him behind the plate.... below average for sure.... but a team can win with him there. I wonder if Jimenez can get a look in September.
LeafsJays Verified Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Reyes SS Davis LF Bautista RF Encarnacion 1B Melky DH Derosa 2B Rasmus CF Lawrie 3B JPA C This would be a nice lineup tonight against a lefty
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Reyes SS Davis LF Bautista RF Encarnacion 1B Melky DH Derosa 2B Rasmus CF Lawrie 3B JPA C This would be a nice lineup tonight against a lefty I hope the fact that Cabrera is playing against a lhp over Davis is because they've joined #tanknation
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Reyes SS Davis LF Bautista RF Encarnacion 1B Melky DH Derosa 2B Rasmus CF Lawrie 3B JPA C This would be a nice lineup tonight against a lefty Melky DH 5th spot? Why? Melky cant', run or catch, he's not a good baseball player.
LeafsJays Verified Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Im a little confused as to why they wouldnt have Rajai in LF and Melky DH instead of Lind. But to that token im pretty sure Lind is hitting lefties well
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 jays will win just enough games in the second half to end up with 15th pick next year And just enough to fool Beeston and AA to keep the team together even though it's never going to work.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 For me Reyes Bautista Rasmus EE Lind Lawrie Melky Izzy JPA Following the book word by word eh? If Lawrie continues to heat up then I'd push him to the 5 hole to have that dynamic combo of power, contact and speed
LeafsJays Verified Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 The purpose of that is a higher average. Bautista and Encarnacion have the power to clear the bases and also to be hanging there at second. Melky can hit singles and drive in a run. Not only that but Melky doesnt strike out as often and is less of a pull hitter therefore more efficient in moving the runner over
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I would have had Davis in the lineup today.
theblujay Verified Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 How does Izturis have so much less WAR than Boni?
LeafsJays Verified Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Is it just me or does Johnson always get bad defense behind him and then always get tagged by it
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 hahahahahahahahahaha Seriously just release this bum!
dmrich28 Verified Member Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 ROFLOL..this team is just a circus
