flafson Verified Member Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 IS the arm better after TJS? Sometimes, yes.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2013 Author Posted August 5, 2013 IS the arm better after TJS? Not necessarily, but the arm is in better physical condition. Mind issues, fear, lack of confidence and.....It's very difficult for a young pitcher.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2013 Author Posted August 5, 2013 Yeah... it just seems that TJS is just a right of passage for a young pitcher. 1/4 of MLB pitchers have undergone this surgery.
Caper Verified Member Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 1/4 of MLB pitchers have undergone this surgery. And rarely does the issue return? I wonder if part of the reason is the time off? These are pitchers that have been throwing since they were 5.... all of a sudden the arm has a substantial time to heal. Or maybe it's just that years of wear and tear on the ACL are gone when it is switched out.
