Sparky12 Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 This guy has been argueably our best starter this year as crazy as it sounds. Everyone(myself included) seemed to think it was in no way sustainable and it was only a matter of time until he blew up. Overall he's shown good consistency for a decent time now, at what point does he become a legit option for the back of the rotation next year. As crazy as it sounds, but if he keeps pitching well how can you argue.
flafson Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 What i wanted to see (and thankfully he delivered) was the ability to bounce back after a bad inning. All good starters do that on a regular basis. They give a bad inning and they settle down and you can't touch them anymore. I think it was a mistake for Francone to leave Masterson in the game in the 7th inning, he should have replaced him long before that. Thankfully we were able to get something going while he was on the ropes.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Yes I think he's the real deal Not an ace and won't give you 220 innings, but a solid middle of the rotation level starter
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 he's a legit MLB pitcher, something no one was sure about just a few months ago
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 I need to see him do it over a full season. We've seen Carlos V and he got everyones hopes up on here when he was pitching well for a month. Still to early to tell if Rogers is legit. He could be a solid No. 4 or could flame out after +120 IP.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 He throws 2 pitchers still walks a shitload of left handed hitters. Like most groundball pitchers he'll struggle with that when the balls get through. I think he'll remain close to what he is...a bad option in the dome and an okay option in friendly parks.
