Notes:

 

Rockies::

  • CarGo won player of the week award in the NL for hittng .476 with three homers and even an OF assist gunning down Michael Young when the Rockies were in Philly
  • Jays ended the Rockies' mini 2 game winning streak last night. The Rockies are 0-13 against the Jays lifetime

 

Jays:

  • Since the Jays found themselves 11 games under .500 (10-21) they turned things around in a good way, so good that they own the best AL East record in that timeframe of 23-15.
  • Jays had a fury of injury news come in. Reyes and Morrow had rehab games yesterday, and although Reyes was OK, Morrow suffered a setback with his forearm and will be shut down until they can get it examined. Luis Perez stopped his rehab because of a 'minor' issue, and JA Happ threw his second BP session since his knee injury.
  • Esmil Rogers has been a splendid suprise so far, and he looks to stay in the rotation after Morrow suffered a setback in his rehab. The ex-Rocky had his longest outing of the season going 7 1/3 of one run ball in Arlington against the Rangers. As a starter he's pitched to a great 1.26 ERA and owning a nice 11:4 K:BB ratio in 14.1 IP
  • The Jays starting have been spotless in general, owning a 2.32 ERA in the last 12 games (Jays are 9-3 in those games), and they have a 0.53 ERA in the last 4 games!

Milano yum. Francis is the type of soft throwing scrub that gives us fits..... Jays don't hit lefties well.

Hope i'm wrong, got a gut feeling the streak ends tonight...our lineup looks terrible, especially with melky hitting below .200 against lefties.

We can light up Francis so we just need a decent start from Rogers tonight

 

Dont be so sure, soft throwing lefties are the jays krypotonite.
