Pulk_Pull Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Thanks for the laugh this morning everyone. Reading peoples reactions to crap they know little about, and without the full picture always makes me chuckle.
ace3113 Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Dace Kime to Cleveland rhp, Louisville.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 7, 2013 Author Posted June 7, 2013 who are the players with tough sign and put up a high price tag? Denney, Jones, Serrano and Sandberg are the highest ranked. Many of the high school guys at this point.

imsorry4beatinU Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Sox take Denney. Can they get it done. I think they saved some money taking trey ball
theblujay Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Just wondering: why don't we get a competitive balance pick. We have been terrible for two decades, have awful attendance, and play in an impossible division.
ace3113 Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Perfect game: patrick murphy, rhp, hamilton hs, chandler. Had murphy not undergone tommy john surgery last summer, which cost him his senior season at hamilton high, he would in all probability have been in the mix to go as early as the second round. If, as anticipated, he has a chance to work out for scouts prior to the draft and shows signs of his former low-90s velocity, it’s possible a team could take a flier on him and pop him with an early-round pick. Patrick murphy, rhp, hamilton hs, chandlermurphy, a long, loose, projectable righthander, easily ranked as the top prep arm in arizona for the 2013 draft until hurting his pitching elbow during the 2012 season and undergoing tommy john surgery last summer. He hasn’t pitched since, although he is back throwing and there is a chance he might throw a bullpen or two prior to the draft. If he does, and flashes any semblance of the raw stuff that he featured as a junior at hamilton high, notably a 92-mph fastball and the makings of an impressive curve, then it’s entirely possible a team could take a stab at murphy in the top 10 rounds—though it’s highly unlikely he would ever go as early as the second to fourth rounds, where he projected prior to his injury. Murphy has committed to oregon, and that appears to be his more-likely option in the short term, especially since he has been assured all along by ducks officials that his scholarship offer will be honored.
imsorry4beatinU Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 we love our tommy john injured guys
Pulk_Pull Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Got my popcorn for the hater parade round 2!
theblujay Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Lol its a repeat of the other picks. Overdraft a high school pitcher who was hurt.
ace3113 Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Stupid Mariners. There goes Tyler O'Neill. Hey Brian Parker there are position players in this draft too!
StevieRay Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I guess Bickford is really asking for the moon. The last 2 picks have been high school no namers with some talent who will prolly sign for less than slot.
theblujay Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I guess we're just never gonna have any prospects who can hit until we get a new gm.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 That's a pick that makes no sense to me. Remind me, with the new CBA, do we get compensation for 3rd rounders if they don't sign? If so, when does that stop?
Pulk_Pull Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I guess Bickford is really asking for the moon. The last 2 picks have been high school no namers with some talent who will prolly sign for less than slot. Or they are trying to save $$$ for Rounds 10+.
