Why not just put the pitcher in the two hole and just bunt him over? Just moving the runner over from first to second again is stupid.

This gut never even heard of strealing LOL.

The moment you resort to name calling, insults and bringing up grammar, you know you are clueless, immature and have zero argument.

lol kk

MOVING THE RUNNER OVER CAN INCLUDE DOUBLES TRIPLES AND HOME RUNS, ALL OF WHICH BAUTISTA CAN PROVIDE MORE THAN OTHER PLAYERS ON THE TEAM WITH THE EXCEPTION OF TRIPLES, GOD.

As someone who plays sports on a fairly regular basis, I'm offended. :P

Yeah but hitting extra base hits is a lot better with more guys on base, if your best hitter is second you have less chance of driving in said runs.

Logic is the #2 guys has to MOVE the runner over or take pitches if they want to steal, both scenariops take the bat out of their hands. Doing that with JB is idiotic. #2 moves the runner over the the rbi guys, that's logic. LEarn some.

You really need to stop listening to Pat Tabler.

But how do you know more guys will get on base? Drive in every run you can, don't make assumptions such as that.

?? But you assumed JB batting second is somehow better for driving in runs? Every year the top run producers bat 3 or 4, not second why is that? You get2 chances for a base runner batting 3, only 1 when he bats second.. derp.

We all play sports, the argument of that the people over at mlb.com know more than the rest of us because they put on a suit and are on tv is just getting so old.

Oy. So this is how the scholars felt back in the dark ages when they tried to educate people that the world wasn't flat....

Yea and the 3 hole batter also comes up the most with no one on and 2 outs, not a good position for your best hitter to hit in, is it? DERP

I didn't f***ing assume it, I posted statistical data which you promptly ignored, and now you're making other assertions with no evidence. Ugh...

Well, Harold Reynolds doesn't exactly help this argument.

By that logic he would also be in that position batting second even more....derp.... Every year the top rbi and run producers who lead the league bat 3 or 4, why is that?

You are really dumb. Really, really dumb. For real.

I'm not arguing that batting 4th isn't extremely important, you realize this, right?

I don't think it's dumb. Just unwilling to be open minded. Save yourself the headache and IL the guy like I just did. You'll feel about 20-25 baseball IQ points come right back to you.

You need 5 times that to help you.

Why does the league leaders in driving in runs always bat 3 or 4 then? Luck? lol.

Mitch Wiliams is the best example of this. Former mlb closer and now has this delusional perception of what makes a good player. Because he did it and was praised by his fans throughout his career, he now honestly thinks a good closer is more valuable than the best pitcher in baseball

But the IL is so freaking ugly. Abomination's fix didn't work for me, he checked over my settings and it just didn't work. Dunno why.

To an extent yes but that would probably go over your head.

Metallijay, do you think Joe Carter was a quality baseball player for the majority of his career because he had lots of RBIz?

Cherry picking your argument, Babe ruth, mickey mantle, barry bonds, griffey, Arod, Prince Fielder, Miguel cabrera, Pujols all bat 3 or 4 for a reason. Power hitters who drive in runs bat 3 or 4.

Batting SECOND he would come up with TWO OUTS and no one on base a lot? Really..like really

Unlike Chappy, I don't get sunburned from being in the light for over 5 minutes, so occasionally, yeah. I've been busy with school this week though so I've stayed home and posted in the mean time. I've been out for the majority of the weekend, though.

LOL, I go out everyday for several hours. I don't really burn that easily, it was just due to being out for several hours one day directly in the sunlight.

Do you have a link to the article or video where he argued this? I'd love a good laugh

Can you read? I said he would come up with no one on even more, with only 1 batter hitting ahead of him, it would also take away the lead off guys speed or take the bat out of his hand if you wanted to steal. Again, all the best hitters in baseball. Cabrera, Fielder, Bonds, Pujols hit 3-4 for a reason.

That's the sound of baseball knowledge going over your head

WE HAVE POSTED STATISTICAL DATA THAT SHOWS THIS IS WHOLLY INCORRECT. Sheeeeeeeeit. Can YOU read?

First, stop using the 4 hole as an example because no is arguing against that. And because someone did something 50 years ago its correct now, even after people in the industry spent a lot of time analyzing line up construction and ran the math and found out that the optimal lineup is with your best hitters hitting 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th, we should listen to what people who havent actually spent time looking at the numbers?>
