Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 My god this is one skimpy waiver draft. Then again I thought the same last year until I yoinked Willson Contreras @ #89. I have 20 guys lumped together on my board. I thought about trading up but couldn't find one name in particular who jumped out.

I don't even have a board, I just click some names onto my watch list and cross-check the Top 100 lists (there's no Willson Contreras available this year).

Laika Community Moderator Posted February 14, 2017 Author Posted February 14, 2017 This waiver draft does seem rather weak. I don't even see a lot of great relievers.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 This waiver draft does seem rather weak. I don't even see a lot of great relievers. There are some solid holds guys available, but no obvious Jeurys Familia or Sam Dyson this season.

Well I suppose those guys never really seem like those guys until they become those guys. The good picks will still occur this year, we just won't know until mid-season.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 yeah people were very stingy with their RP's this year. Lots of keepers. Will be interesting to see if that holds going forward.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Michael Fulmer was a game-changing pick last year, nice work KK. Oh was another steal.

My board is basically rosterresource.com I just want two solid holds guys, and then some hot garbage with my other 3 picks.

z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Napoli at 78 turned into good value (in a wasted season). But that was entirely because I had not good options at 1B, not because I knew something
TRM Verified Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Ibaka to raps!! A 6ft10 Congolese man just made my Valentine's Day #LoveIsLove

GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Get different-er avatars, I got really confused thinking GD just picked out of turn. Seconded! GD needs to change. Speedy was first, and is the owner of the Cubs in the LOD. I don't like being confused. I actually thought of that right after I saw the post lol

TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Why not edit the first post to include that link? Just because you win it doesn't mean that you get to tell the rest of the league what to do...now go back to jerking off on to your DDL trophy. NJH, I had a great idea, you should put the google docs page on the initial post.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Kind of sad that Dinger has guys on his team that make me feel young and yet I don't ever see him losing the division title...Now it's Speedy with the bad news for his team.

I don't think the division will be a runaway this year.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 I predict: Dinger, Silver, Silvio, Njh as division winners. EDIT: Turkey Bacon is a super close race. North, TCA, and njh could all easily take it. Especially if TCA has someone other than TDA as his starting UTIL.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 What does z3r0s' team look like now? He had a super-farm going into last season, so I'm curious to see how things have played out since then.

He had a super-farm going into last season, so I'm curious to see how things have played out since then. The lineup is nice: Contreras, Abreu, Dee, K Seag, Story, Eaton, Mazara, Polanco, C Santana. Should be good for years to come. On the pitching side it's Aaron Sanchez, CarMart, Richards, with Urias and Giolito on the farm and a nice collection of holds guys. It's a non-closer pen but should be pretty dominant in holds to make up for it. Pitching depth is maybe a bit short for the time being just because the rotation is so young and innings could be unreliable. I think it's already a very dangerous team. He could also trade Senzel+ for pitching if he's in it near the deadline. It was a patient and well-executed rebuild.

FTD still has Trout & Kershaw (seriously, f*** you TCA), so that division will be close, but silvio's offence is lethal all-around and on the right side of 30.

I think it's a playoff team now, and is a good workhorse starter away from being a top team. First successful tear-down and rebuild in DDL history.

Blew the farm out to get Carlos Martinez, Jose Abrue, and Eaton all filling spots that were pretty much black holes on my team. C - Willson Contreras 1B - Jose Abreu 2B - Dee Gordon SS - Trevor Story 3B - Kyle Seager CF - Adam Eaton RF - Gregory Polanco LF - Nomar Mazara UT - Carlos Santana BN - Eduardo Rodriguez BN - Billy Hamilton SP - Carlos Martinez SP - Aaron Sanchez SP - Garrett Richards SP - Julio Urias SP - Alex Wood SP - Cody Reed SP - Junior Guerra RP - Matt Bush RP - Pedro Strop RP - Sergio Romo RP - Darren O'Day RP - CJ Edwards Minors (remaining) - Lucas Giolito, Nick Senzel, Rowdy Tellez, a few other, not close
