Pot smoker...decided not to go to Texas A&M out of fear of big time baseball. Quit the sport for 4 years.

And Slade had an alcohol issue that almost had him out of a baseball so I guess that's why the comparison came to mind. Probably more wishful thinking than anything else though. On the one the one hand, I'm just hyping him up but on the other hand, I'm genuinely intrigued. I'm a sucker for deep sleepers.

Since Dinger would have delightedly brought up Kazmir's shoulder issues if he was on a different contender, I feel compelled to say...

Ha-ha.

i tried to bring it up in a clever way...failed miserably.

I just thought you were talking about rigid airships.

Kashmir should be on everyone's playlist...but it was specifically for Dinger who I know plays it on repeat every time Kazmir pitches.

When I was a little boy in Toronto, dinger came to my town and he was rostering the most incredible pitcher. I said to him, "what do you call this most incredible pitcher?", and he said "they call him Kazmir". I repeated the words "Kazmir, Kazmir". I asked if I could have him, and he said "No. Get away from me." Then he started to walk away. But I grabbed onto his leg screaming for him to give me Kazmir and he dragged me through the street. And then he kicked at me with the other foot and threw Buehrle at me. Oh, but I didn't want Buehrle... I wanted the Kazmir.

Jaime García, Shane Greene, Wei-Yin Chen, Miguel González. So who's your #3 starter now that Kazmir is done for the season?

I dunno, Rodon? Doesn't really matter tho, cause I have two Top 10 SPs and a killer bullpen. I'll probably add another mid rotation starter, but so far I've been quite competitive in Ks and Ws.

I'd be surprised if Kazmir is done for the season considering how effective he's been. It could happen though.

Michael Lorenzen should step right in and replace those innings adequately! Or not.

1) The Red Sox farm is ridiculously stacked right now.

2) Fap.

Pitcher of the day: Michael Kopech, RHP, Red Sox (Greenville, Low-A): 4 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 8 SO. Kopech thoroughly dominated the overmatched Augusta GreenJackets on Wednesday night. He faced 16 batters in his four innings: eight of them struck out and nobody mustered a fly ball (though there was one line drive). The 19-year-old breezed through four innings, inducing 12 swing and misses during his brief outing. He sat in the mid-to-high 90s, topping out at 99 mph while integrating the rest of his three-pitch mix into his game plan. Just a year out of high school, Kopech will spend the rest of the campaign improving his slider and changeup, and tightening up his command. Whether he does that in the Sally League or in a more competitive environment depends on how deliberate the Red Sox plan to be with their former first-rounder.

Oh no, David Dahl!

RotoWire News: Dahl had an awful on-field collision Thursday that may have resulted in a concussion, broken rib and a ruptured spleen, Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan reports. (5/28/2015)

Injury: Concussion, Day-to-Day

Jesus.

Awful on-field collision with a rhino?

Any news agency that reports a concussion as day to day is moronic.

Said moronic reporting becomes exponentially more moronic when the concussion in question is accompanied by a ruptured spleen.

That's a pretty ballsy move by NJH, trading his best asset for a guy that's on the DL with plantar fasciitis. That injury can really linger and/or sap power, so he might not get any contributions from CoreDick for awhile. Conversely, I don't really see a huge advantage to silvergun adding Scherzer, since he already has the best pitching in the league. Overall, I hate it for both of you.

Hawk Harrelson had knee surgery, Swirsky is taking his place.

You won't be laughing anyways once Scherzer's inverted L gets his elbow/shoulder and Billy McKinney is out Winkering Jesse Winker.

I can't believe I gave away McKinney for nothing. Silvergun is the worst.
