BTS Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Ugh, if he hasn't shown a pulse in 2 weeks I might have to at least bargain bin shop. It will get better. The same thing happened to me last April with Belt, Gyorko, and Butler and they... lol.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 Connor McDavid Lottery Danny Salazar back in the bigs Could today get any better for sports fans?
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Sammy pacing North after a big win, Havok just buzz sawing poor Hurl... Uh BTS, we need to get our s*** in gear. I'll be taking care of that upstart havok next week.
TRM Verified Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I figure this is as good a week as any to bring this up, but boy is it fun to own a good Blue Jays player.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I figure this is as good a week as any to bring this up, but boy is it fun to own a good Blue Jays player. Man, I covet Donaldson so bad. What a f***ing stud.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I've never had a good 3B. I want Donaldson so much.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 f*** I couldn't get Buttholez out of my lineup in time. Watch him torch all 3 ratios for me.
TRM Verified Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Josh Donaldson is a bad man. Knowing he is playing against the team that gave up on him, he hangs 3 HRs and an OPS over 1.300 Bet the guy who traded him for peanuts hates himself this week.

I still think that's got to be the all-time biggest heist in DDL history.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 I still think that's got to be the all-time biggest heist in DDL history. Is anything else even close?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Is anything else even close? The Lucroy deal was similar, if I'm not mistaken.
TRM Verified Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 The Lucroy deal was similar, if I'm not mistaken. It's a mutual back scratching situation, between Silvergun and I.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 Lucroy for Jaso, K-Rod, pick #24 (bad but at least it was a win-now move) Spanky and KK swapping their #3 and #4 slots in the start up draft (with you two dickheads) was ugly. Neil Walker for #60 was ugly. Werth+Kennedy for Olt and ROY Matt Davidson was ugly. none of them are like Donaldson for free though.

Buxton for Sale + Freeman was a pretty good win-now trade, although obviously Buxton could still be a superstar. Giolito + Ventura for Shields will go down as a putrid trade for me.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Ouch, that Walker deal is fugly. He should have fetched a high 2nd at the very least, if not a high 1st.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 f*** I couldn't get Buttholez out of my lineup in time. Watch him torch all 3 ratios for me. Lol
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Buxton for Sale+Freeman was awful. If someone wants to give me that for Bryant he can have him
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 Oh wow, Dinger traded Freeman straight up for Ortiz? why?
TRM Verified Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 In a leak that is being compared to the infamous Astros leak of 2014, here are some samplings of quotes from the Donaldson trade exchanges between myself and Silvergun. For context, Donaldson was only a fit for me at the time as I had an injured Hanley at 3rd. Silvergun: "A lot of people had Donaldson pegged as a sleeper, and after an unlucky start he's been hitting well lately, with 2 walk-offs in the past week to boot. If he can sustain his reduced K% he could be really something. I just grabbed him off the wire, so not asking for much, maybe a pick or reliever? If not I like him enough I'm going to stash him and hope for a big season." Min: "I am intrigued by Donaldson, but I really wouldn't want to give up too much. Alternatively, he could be part of a bigger package. I like the looks of Brett Anderson, but I am not sure if you would be willing to part with him." *Later in the same message* "Donaldson for a mid pick would work too. Not sure how much you value him." Silvergun: "Donaldson for your 56th sound fair? Chris Johnson was dealt for the 39th, and I feel like Donaldson is closer to the 56 than 65 in value compared to that, despite it not mattering a whole hell of a lot by that point probably." Min: "Let's do it for the 56, but can you send me your sixth rounder back?" Silvergun: "Well, I'll tell you what, since I eked out a tiny bit of value in a previous trade by upgrading from 120-->103 can I try to keep that going by sending you my 103, but also trading my 98 for your 96? So Donaldson + 98 + 103 FOR 56 + 96" I'm hope Silvergun won't mind these being posted, they were just too entertaining/interesting not to share.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Oh wow, Dinger traded Freeman straight up for Ortiz? why? No I didn't, I traded Freeman for Price because I knew I had a deal for Ortiz (Glasnow). Then I traded Price for Choo (barf) and Choo + Archer for Bautista.
TRM Verified Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Spanky and KK swapping their #3 and #4 slots in the start up draft (with you two dickheads) was ugly. Adding to this one, the prospects that went 17th and 18th respectfully in the bottom end of the first round of that initial MiLB draft? Byron Buxton and Carlos Correa.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Adding to this one, the prospects that went 17th and 18th respectfully in the bottom end of the first round of that initial MiLB draft? Byron Buxton and Carlos Correa. Don't remind him, he passed them up for Zunino.

Laika Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 I think someone just mentioned Zunino so I'm going to close this tab now and watch highlights of Danny Salazar's day.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 Adding to this one, the prospects that went 17th and 18th respectfully in the bottom end of the first round of that initial MiLB draft? Byron Buxton and Carlos Correa. You can basically trace huge portions of the success of two teams, and the mediocrity of two others, back to those ill-fated transactions.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Neil Walker for 60 + 100 in year 1 was the worst move I've made. What makes it worse: I did it to open up a spot for Jedd Gyorko. I had to trade Tyson Ross to clear up that mess.
TRM Verified Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 So I went and checked the old draft results. The final outcome of the Donaldson trade was: Donaldson + Joe Ross + Dustin Peterson FOR Cesar Puello (drafted by jaysblue) and Nick Williams (drafted by NJH)
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Big picture, I definitely wish I'd just kept Freeman, but it was the Choo trade where I lost the most value. North sodomized me in the Price and Shields trades, and won a championship as a result.

Please tell me you don't still have our Lynn negotiations.
