Yikes, his velo is way down this year. Most of his FBs were 89/90 today and he only touched 92. Normally sits 92/93.

Henderson does the 'show the ball to CF' thing that Matt Harvey does. He also might short arm it a bit (short deceleration path for the arm) but not sure about that.

I wonder if mechanics, and resulting injury risk factor, were part of the decision to trade him. FWIW Syndergaard's timing seems a bit off too and he's had a couple of forearm strains with New York. Of course it's not like Sanchez has better mechanics.

April 12

Syndergaard dealt with some forearm stiffness in spring training and will start the fifth game of the season for Triple-A Las Vegas, ESPN New York reports.

Analysis: That start comes Monday at Sacramento. Mets manager Terry Collins said that the organization is just being cautious in moving Syndergaard back.

April 13

Syndergaard (forearm) will be limited to 60 pitches in his first Triple-A start on Monday, Newsday reports.

Analysis: This is another illustration of the Mets' cautious approach with one of their top prospects. They've downplayed this issue overall, though.

Dammit TCA, you're full again. I politely decline your Strasburg for Rodon offer.

I understand I guess. Strass does have some injury concerns, and he's off to a terrible start. I'd also be willing to add in a draft pick though.

A 5th would get it done.

Also, I'm against doing PRs until my slash line normalizes.

Ha, that PR is going to sum up my season I think. Weak rotation that lost 2 of it's top 3 to the bullpen, on that note if anyone is looking to move pitching...Lawrie is on the table

E: Willing to move any of my prospects as well - depending on the package I get in return of course

fWAR career - Eddie Butler or Aaron Sanchez?

Or, fWAR as a SP in career might be a better question.

I don't care, I only took Butler because everyone would have yelled at me otherwise.

I wasn't being snarky. They are very similar pitchers - high GB%, high upside, terrible present skills.

Been saying this for awhile. Surprised you bough in given that his statsy profile sucks and you love stat scouting.

Anyone know if Canha has a chance to be a guy? I had never heard of him until like 5 days ago.

I expect him to be about as useful as Brandon Guyer IRL.

Eww, gross. I'm just gonna assume he's the next Calhoun until his numbers suck.

Isn't he more of a lefty masher?

Calhoun is just good.

0.876 OPS vs. LHP and 0.838 in vs. RHP in the minors. Oakland is starting him against anyone.

Nobody knows what Mark Canha is, that's what makes his story compelling. The A's had an opening and are taking a flyer just like you are.

Interesting.

Also, god dammit, he better not be.

This is the True Cards we're talking about. He won't make it to May.
