I like the Turner pick. 2B/3B/SS eligibility with an above average bat is a nice asset. Mattingly says he's going to play him more this year too.

He's got like, no peripheral skills though. Kind of just an empty .260/.320 hitter.

It's not my fault you wear old man socks, don't hate me for having some semblance of fashion sense.

I wear the same socks as you...which destroys any argument you have.

I had Turner penciled in when I picked useless Jordy Mercer...but I honestly don't see how Mattingly gets him more AB's without major injuries. He's versatile but he's not Sean Rodriguez versatile.

I considered Elias at the Buerhle pick but I wasn't sure if he has a rotation spot. He was pretty decent last year.

He's probably 6th on the depth chart, so he should get 20+ starts in.

If he had as spot he probably would have been a keeper for me. Dropping him and getting him back as late as 65 works out pretty well. I've basically been hoarding young pitching as this draft, Karns, Oberholtzer, Desclafani and now Elias.

Not a bad strategy, you'll probably hit on one or two of them.

I could see Karns becoming a very nice asset. Very hard to see any of the other three becoming more than a fringe keeper.

I hate you for Karns and Desclafani,

I like Karns least of the four but I took him first because he has the most hype.

I think he has the lowest floor of the four, and I'd prefer the others to him if I'm looking at 2015 production. I think his ceiling is higher than the others though.

I would have said the same about Keuchel, Shoemaker, deGrom, McHugh, Roark, Carrasco, Arrieta, Richards, etc.

Yeah, but you can apply that logic to any AAAA starter. Which I guess brings us back to the idea that hoarding as many as possible is probably not a bad idea.

I'm trying to get the Diamondbacks #5 starter with both Webster and Delgado. I think one could take the job and break out.

Off topic.. but I have a redraft I do every year with some friends. I was looking at the 2012 league, and in hindsight, this has to be the worst transaction of all time:

Mar 16 2012 8:41pm

Daniel Murphy

(NYM - 1B,2B,3B)

Player Note

Add Killer JBSDNUTs

Mike Trout

(LAA - OF)

Player Note

Drop Killer JBSDNUTs

Needless to say, Trout finished the year as the #1 ranked player on Yahoo.
