Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Cool, Steamer thinks Refsnyder is a league-average bat at 2B. We are gonna have the exact same middle infield between BBDL and DDL.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 We are gonna have the exact same middle infield between BBDL and DDL. We can celebrate next year when Bogaerts goes full Tulo and Refsnyder is a poor man's Pedroia.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 We can celebrate next year when Bogaerts goes full Tulo and Refsnyder is a rich man's Pedroia. Fixed. *high five*
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Fixed. *high five* Good point. I forgot that Pedroia kinda sucks now.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I've got pick 77 and 84 for your decent relievers! Gief Also, BTS, I moved the 64 pick to you on the sheet.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 7, 2014 Author Posted October 7, 2014 So? It's still idiotic to project their WAR higher than consistent ace workhorses like the afformentioned (and Wainright, etc). 2014 Stroman vs. 2013 Kluber *lists fancy stats* *reclines with smug look on face*
GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 There's no personal bias or assumptions in the system, just numbers, don't see how that invokes idiocracy. Steamer has a very tried and true system that uses a lot of peripherals and factors and it works. Sure better systems can be made with non-public data and specific PitchFX data, but Steamer is the best you can get publicly. The reliability scores of Stroman and Carrasco are likely far lower than those of Greinke, MadBum etc, but it's still the best guess for their mean projection. You should do testing to see how your projection system did, and NJH can publish it for you if you're not allowed or something.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Why is it funny then? I though Romo was a good buy for Boxy. I wasn't laughing at the Romo trade, otherwise I would've commented when it happened.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 And yes, it's that time of year again where projections are teh gospel. I thought projections were always gospel?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I'll take Carlos Gomez off your hands? Does that mean Puig is on the table. Sure. For the right returns...
torontofan Verified Member Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Did they not project injured players? Or did Darvish's arm completely fall off? The projections for pitcher IP at this time is always dumb.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Literally every closer is projected for 28 saves.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 7, 2014 Author Posted October 7, 2014 Sort Steamer600 by WAR and Jamie Moyer is #32
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Sort Steamer600 by WAR and Jamie Moyer is #32 Seems legit IMO.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Rafael Soriano and Casey Janssen are available for those teams who have space and who are looking to make a profit once the season rolls around. Also, will take offers on Brad Boxberger.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Any room in this league? There must be somebody that deserves to be kicked out?
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Any room in this league? There must be somebody that deserves to be kicked out? Even if there was; there's a waiting list.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Any room in this league? There must be somebody that deserves to be kicked out? I am sure if you talk to BTS nicely he will let you be a Co-Manager with him. I am sure he would love that lol.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 I am sure if you talk to BTS nicely he will let you be a Co-Manager with him. I am sure he would love that lol. STFU and tell me if the talks we had are going anywhere.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 You really think you're going to get Votto for the likes of Desmond Jennings and Dallas Keuchel?
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 I have never so much as inquired on Votto in the history of the DDL. You really think you're going to get Votto for the likes of Desmond Jennings and Dallas Keuchel?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Shot in the dark. Anyway Keuchel sucks.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 I have inquired on Votto, I offered Chris Davis for him last offseason.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 (edited) Anyway Keuchel sucks. If by 'sucks' you mean 'is a badass motherf***er with the best beard this side of LA' then yes, he sucks. Edited October 8, 2014 by BTS
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Beckett retired. Who were the other two shitbags silvergun gave up for deGrom?
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 CC Sabathia + inevitable future Blue Jay Gavin Floyd
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 CC Sabathia + inevitable future Blue Jay Gavin Floyd No way Floyd survives the cut. Sabathia for DeGrom. Gross.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 No way Floyd survives the cut. Sabathia for DeGrom. Gross. I think you underestimate the s***** rotation that I possess
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Sammy, sent you another note on Proboards. ---- Floyd's peripherals were very good in his short stint this year. If he gets a rotation look out of ST I think he's interesting.
