Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 It's great. I'm checking my phone on every break at work to see if it's my turn. I like that it's got all the sports rolled into one app now.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 And you can easily view your Watch List in the app, which is ideal for this draft.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I like that it's got all the sports rolled into one app now. Wdf I wasn't even aware of this. I have all 4 separate apps. I gatta get this mixed one.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Wdf I wasn't even aware of this. I have all 4 separate apps. I gatta get this mixed one. I got the notice for it when I logged into the baseball one along with the link to download the new one.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Like we're just picking non-closing relievers and OF3 or OF4's here, so it shouldn't take this long.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 90% of these guys will be dropped by midseason anyway. The tune sure has changed. Earlier ITT it was all about the hidden value and the interesting guys.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Outside the top 10 or so we're basically hoping to find 1-2 guys who can contribute all season, and maybe getting lucky and finding a keeper for next year. I did a bit more research tonight and I basically concur. You can pretty much ignore value at this point and draft for need.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Fun Fact: In 60 IP last season, Jarred Cosart had a higher BB/9 (5.25) than K/9 (4.95); yet he stilled finished with a 1.95 ERA. This stat was brought to you by xFIP.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Taylor Jordan is interesting in the same way Hendo is interesting. He could be useful, but as a 6-7 guy in this league. Cosart I think you'll drop before the all star break. IMO worst case scenario, a rebuilding team takes a flier on him for a late pick.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Imagine King was in this waiver draft?
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Imagine King was in this waiver draft? Ive waited almost a week so far to make my 1st selection, and the guy I want is going to go right before me, i know it
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Ive waited almost a week so far to make my 1st selection, and the guy I want is going to go right before me, i know it Picture that antagonizing wait, then add 10 picks more of wait time, and that's my life. I have no one to blame but myself though. I traded my first rounder knowing I would have to then wait 40 picks.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I guess I shouldn't have bitched about the 60 texts, Emails and PM's I got for my first pick. At least I didn't lose out on Paco. I have notified Speedy Gose that he is up.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 You didn't get notified? not that I can see. I had a message 11 hours ago from Cat ass asking if I'd move the pick. My own fault for reading his message and not jumping on to see when that pick was up. 3 exams and 20 hours at work since Monday is my excuse.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 I know I emailed you at ~8pm You were probably too busy macking on someone half your age in the cafeteria.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Yikes, busy man. You should've been notified though. BTS should have let him know. I knew he seemed like a slacker.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I love the Paco pick, he was on my short list.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Thru 27 picks: Avg Duration of Pick: 5.25 hours Projected Draft Duration: 21.9 days Projected Finish Date: March 15
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 So in other words, we're doing fine. The season starts on March 22, if the draft is still dragging on through then, we can just open up free agency at a predetermined time.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I love the Paco pick, he was on my short list. So what's the deal with Paco? Is this just about the youth and K-rate or is there more to the story?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 It's weird to see a young reliever with an avg FB under 90 MPH, especially with that nice K rate.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Damn, 15% SwStr tho, thats filthy. The slider must be nasty.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Just curious, should I be drafting now instead of SpeedyGose? He drafted before me in the first round, and Kevin was right after me - so shouldn't I be picking now? I think the order is wrong.

One of those Hurl picks must've not been his originally.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Nevermind. Yeah I saw Hurl make his Paco pick, which was a couple slots earlier which threw me off.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Just made my selection, AJ Ramos
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 Reminder for everyone to email the person picking after them. Only takes a second and it can really help.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Made my pick already. Only 13 mins after speedygose made his selection! I think that's the new league record
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Ugh, f*** you Sil. I was totally eying Siegrist at #34... I even considered him at 14.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Siegrist is like 8 feet tall and throws 97 from the left. I think he's going to rack up the holds.
