TheHurl Site Manager Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 All this hype over a two day tournament.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 All this hype over a two day tournament. It's a great tournament
TheHurl Site Manager Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 It's a great tournament It's a good tournament. The U20 Basketball is also a good tournament, it doesn't get overhyped in the U.S (or hyped at all). Honestly it's purely the hype machine at TSN that annoys me about this tourney. The rest of the world barely does care about this tourney, but Canada (via TSN) makes it seem like it's the biggest annual international tourney out there. It's just u20 hockey and there still are only 5 teams in the tourney that are truly competing for gold.

As someone who watches junior hockey regularly I think it's great to see all the best junior players in one tournament. I can see why the TSN hype machine is annoying but they've been doing it for so long that now every Canadian player grew up watching the tournament as a kid. Outside of Canada it is a big tournament for people who like hockey but you won't find all the people who just watch it here because of the TSN hype machine. TSN broadcasted the U18s last April which was probably half the same team as the current U20, but with 100% less hype.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Going for Gold... GO CANADA GO!!!

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 As long as there's a maple leaf on their chest, multiple goals leads aren't safe. 4-3
