Ugh, now all the leafs fans are going to claim they didn't want him anyway. Like they thought he was going to sign for 7m a year or something when they were penciling him into their lineup for the last three years.

 

Only stupid leaf fans wanted him... there just tends to be a lot of dumb ones.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you've at least been to Florida and you're not just perpetuating the Florida Man meme. Places like Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando and Miami are excellent places and Stamkos definitely will not be living in the less good parts of Florida. Yes, there are less good parts, just like every single state and province.

I'm actually not wrong. It's pretty s*****, overall. Obviously, there are fine parts, like anywhere else, but it's really one of the shittiest states in the U.S. I think it's funny that you describe Ft. Lauderdale as "excellent". I worked on ships for years. I promise you, there is nothing excellent about Ft. Lauderdale. Lol!

Diamondbacks will get there eventually is what I meant. Washington Wizards. Cavs w/o Lebron. Leafs were up there for a while. Oakland Raiders were, but they're really good now. I don't think anyone is quite as bad as Edmonton though.

Sure but they were just extremely mediocre. They're one of the great treadmill teams. The truly inept teams are reserved for teams who are constantly trying to win, being awful, getting rewarded for being awful, and f***ing it up.

I'm very relieved the Leafs didn't get Stamkos. Great player, but we don't need an 8/70 contract for an all offense player, especially at this time when we should probably be aiming for another bottom 5 pick this year.

Most of the people I know were hopeful, but knew it was a long shot.

 

I'm glad Stammer didn't sign in TO. I think trying to rush what they're doing would've been a mistake. Keep adding young, controllable, generally inexpensive talent.

$7.8M cap hit until he's 41. And Weber's best days are behind him. This was not a good move for Montreal IMO.
