He had potential

I remember when people were calling Schultz the better defenceman over Gardiner while they were NCAA teammates. How times have changed since then!

Burke made some damn nice trades. Schenn for JVR, Beauchemin for Lupul+Gardiner, etc

Leafs just shouldn't trade with Boston. I don't mind the Kessel trade as much as the Rask for Raycroft one...

Lol I forgot about that one too. Didn't they get a huge return for Kaberle's corpse though?

They got Colborne and picks for him.

Edit: Just looked it up, they recieved Bostons 1st in the 2011 draft and a conditional pick. They then traded that 1st and their 2nd round for Anaheims 1st where they selected Tyler Biggs. Anaaheim used the Boston pick for Rickard Rakell.

1st round pick for a rental is a really good get. Don't think Gms are that dumb anymore unless its a star going back the other way.

A lot of those weren't that bad and if they were they were at least pretty insignificant. The Raycroft one obviously hurt. He sucked.

Whoever wrote that piece is pretty stupid. Said Phill Kessel wasn't worth one draft pick because he was -28 over 2 years while scoring 119 points. He also said trading Kaberle was a bad trade...Derp

Agreed, came on here just to post about the kessel comment.. a few years ago I would trade 3 picks for ovechkin.

Does anyone know of a site that gives some in depth hockey stats? The stats will obviously never be nearly as good as baseball, but all I can find is stuff related to Corsi and Fenwick, these aren't overly useful.

Extra Skater was perfect but now that its gone BehindtheNet isn't bad but it can be pretty confusing.

Yes.

How long do you expect it to take? If its anything like Extra Skater I'm really excited. Not sure why NHL.com doesn't include advanced stats. It could be so much better and actually give casual fans understanding.

Who the hell writes the rotoworld updates that yahoo uses as their player notes?

"Yes, "The King", Henrik Lundqvist allowed just one goal to Carolina Thursday night.

Advice: The Rangers weren't great, but Lundqvist sure was. Stopping 29-30 shots in 65 minutes of play, plus all eight shots he saw while on special teams, and all three shootout attempts. In four starts this season The King has been beated 15 times, but 12 of them came in his second and third starts combined."

It's just embarrassing at this point. That's high-school quality writing.
