Jake Gardiner has signed a $20.25M, five-year extension with the #leafs. Gives him a $4.05M AAV.

Getting Gardiner sewed on to my jersey after waiting forever is gonna feel so damn good.

I think it's an overpay right now by a million but could be a great bargain in a year or so. Hoping Gardiner polishes his play next season, he's got great skill

Yup. Overpay now so that you can underpay for pretty much every other season.

Just hoping he doesn't become a flop like our many other long term d signings.

Like what I've seen so far, and only 24.

Everything is coming up Milhouse:

Toronto Maple #Leafs GM Dave Nonis: “Whenever rumours about Jake being on block would pop up, Randy would come to me and say: ‘You’re not really considering moving him?’

P.K. Subban on if he’s ever considered playing in his hometown of Toronto: “Um, I’d be wrong to say that I haven’t thought about it. But one thing’s for sure: Montreal’s a great place to play. The start to a tremendous career — hopefully — has been great in Montreal, when you think that we’ve put together a team that’s been in the playoffs in three out of four years. I’ve been a big part of it. I’ve had individual success as well as team success. You look at last year, what we accomplished. And really, just setting the stage for a legacy there that, possibly, some players will never have in any organization. So I look at that first. But definitely, to think that, at some point, you may have the opportunity to play in your hometown? Yeah, it’s unique. But I’m not in a position to elaborate any more on that. All I can say is that I’ve heard a lot about it, I’ve thought about it — but I’m very happy where I am right now, and they’ve treated me so well.

He'll form a great forward core with Nash, Staal, and Perry. Just like when Lindros came home to good ol' TO in the middle of his prime to bring the Leafs the Cup.

Leafs fans need to stop.

Just the same way as it was confirmed that Toews was going to come home and play in Winnipeg....... I guess he didn't get the Memo.

One thing Maple Leaf fans believes is that everyone wants to play in Toronto.

These things never happen, unless you're Minnesota.

When they get into the lungs, that's some seriously scary times.

Hopefully he makes a full recovery.

Extra Skater is currently offline, and it's possible the reason is because Darryl (the guy who runs the site) may have been hired by an NHL team.

Why would that cause it to go offline? And wasn't Shanahan just saying they'd be making an FO hire soon?

Did you see what happened to Dellow's site after he was hired?

Oh wow, I hadn't been on it. Damn.

Imagine if it's the Leafs. Christ.

Did the Leafs make any meaningful signings this off-season?
