Mets' 2014 hopes screwed:

 

WFAN's Mike Francesa says @MattHarvey33 will go on DL with a torn UCL in his elbow.

 

But they have d'Arnaud and Syndegaard... I know Dickey's been struggling here in Toronto, but now the Mets are looking stupid for not resigning Dickey now.. Harvey will miss the 2014 season to likely Tommy John Surgery. Guess Syndegaard will be up sooner than later..

Had Harvey stayed healthy, the Mets would be winning this trade--now the trade looks stupid. Wonder how JP Riccardi feels about yet another of the pitchers on his team blowing his elbow out, just like the pitchers he had with the Jays. And it's not just Harvey--they've also lost Hefner, Mejia and of course, Johan Santana to shoulder and elbow injuries.

I know we drafted Syndegaard--but he was supposed to be part of the future rotation, along with Harvey, leading the Mets back into contention. Instead, Syndegaard, Montero, or somebody else will be rushed to the majors because of Harvey's TJS, when they really need more time in the minors. We should know about this--we've rushed a ton of starters to the majors because of frequent TJSs.

 

As you may expect, the Mets fans are angry at the ownership because of Harvey's torn UCL.

That is infuriating. All of a sudden he's willing to see pitches and take a walk.

A piece of the A-Gone deal in 2011, Raymond Fuentes, has been called up to the MLB by the Padres, after tearing up AA and AAA. Let's hope he succeeds.. Kelly's been hurt and Rizzo's in Chicago.

Cabrera continues to be a monster--43 HR/130 RBIs now after he homers off of AJ Griffin.

 

It'll be interesting to see what the voters do if Miggy doesn't get the triple crown this year, but has superior numbers to last year. With Trout putting up similar numbers to last year, will Miggy still win it?

And a 202 OPS+. If he doesn't win MVP, the voters are idiots.

 

Good thing he's doing all this--Prince Fielder has had a disappointing season--not worth the $24M he's being paid.
