Buxton is the true five-tool prospect. 80 run, plus raw power, plus arm, plus glove, could be a plus hitter. Seems like McCutchen with more speed.

 

But yeah I'd do it too. It's silly how much power Stanton has and his approach should keep improving.

 

I think that could be a fairly even trade, really, with Stanton's side probably coming out a bit on top.

No, Willis was a definite disappointment in '07 but there were signs he was unlucky. 1.27 HR/9 after never going above 0.91, strand-rate above 5 points below his career rate at the time.

 

He was still the D-Train.

 

Not that much more BABIP luck and K's were never really there.

Buxton + Sano side without thinking a lot.

The Twins stink with or without Stanton. I prefer to develop Sano + Buxton and to have 2 future stud playing practically for free, and invest Stanton's money in decent players.

Alex Cobb is a machine. 1-hitting the Yankees through 6 with no walks, 5 Ks, and 9 GO. ERA down to 2.48, xFIP to 2.95.

That Cardinals depth is equal to or better than the Rays--and light years ahead of us, the Yankees and Red Sox. Now they just need to stop losing arms to injury..remember, like most young arms, much of their stuff may not be fully developed yet.

 

Another thing..many of those Cardinals arms are working out of the bullpen with mixed results. And you left out Tyler Lyons.

 

And another thing--Jenkins has actually pitched reasonably well. Don't forget, we have Drabek and Hutchison returning in the 2nd half as well. And what about Marcus Stroaman?

Cleveland loses 3 of 4, 5 of their last 6, Pestano may be hurt due to reduced velocity in his last outing, and now Chris Perez is injured..looks like their strong start was a mirage(again).. looks like Detroit better enjoy the penthouse for a while.

 

And Boston is now in first place---imagine how angry both the Yanks and Red Sox are going to be against each other next weekend when they play each other.

Not for long. Oakland's closing in, as is Baltimore and Tampa Bay. And Cleveland's rotation is Masterson, McAllister, and a lot of questionable arms. Losing Perez and an effective Pestano could be devastating for the Indians, especially with tough games coming up with the first-place Reds, Rays, Yankees and Tigers, Rangers and Nationals.
