  1. Cheers Buck! Bring on Shea Hillenbrand and Scott Schoeneweis!
  2. It's obvious the team is much better to start this season than last season. It's very reasonable to expect them to legitimately compete for the division and the World Series. So I should be looking forward to it, but I'm just not. I don't really care how the Blue Jays or any team does at this point, which has never happened to me in an off-season, so it's weird and I can't pinpoint the reason.
  3. Realistically, how optimistic should we be about the roster as is?
  4. Is it just me or is Shi basically the Squidward of sports journalism?
  5. Who's up for pointless predictions as another way to pass time besides wallowing in anguish? Who will make up the Jays bench on opening day?
  6. Nah, that was one of the great moments of the entire post-season. Pure joy and fun with a close friend. I can see Yankees fans getting annoyed with it in the moment, but anyone who takes 5 seconds to think about it can see Vladdy wasn't being a jerk or anything like that. Anyone who mocks over that is missing the point, and probably on purpose.
  7. This is it right here. I've never felt like this about sports defeat in my life. Been a Jays fan since the late 80s, so I've experienced some disappointing defeats and obviously some exciting victories. But this is different. Not being dramatic, I've had the misfortune of losing a few people close to me, and this feels similar. It's real grief. On top of that, there's some guilt for having similar feelings over a game as with the loss of a loved one. Ugh!
  8. Given the money they've spent on the team, stadium renovations, etc and the money they showed they were willing to spend on other major free agents, plus the revenue from this playoff run and the immense popularity of the team currently, and presumably wanting to get everything they can out of Vlad's prime years, I can't see how they wouldn't "go all in" (whatever that looks like) on having an even better team in 2026 and beyond. Bo is a major priority and I'd be surprised if he refuses to play 2B. I'd like to see Bieber signed. I have a feeling with an off-season to train he's going to be excellent next season and possibly elite. Beyond that, would love to see Bassitt back on the team if the fit is mutual. Far out idea: What are the chances Max takes a 1 year deal to close out his career as an insane freak coming out of the bullpen?
  9. Hi all, been lurking and reading here for a long time. I'm struggling pretty hard with the grief. Half embarrassed about it because I know it's just a game, but it's real and tough to handle.
