  1. How often do games really go deep into extras though?
  2. Does Atkin know ernie is the most liked person in the clubhouse? That would be a hit to the vibes. The return would have to be skubal.
  3. I been screaming butterfly effect from the roof tops. Multiple peoples lives will be saved because of the loss. Someone who may have got into a car accident is going to be saved because he calls in sick due to depression after the loss. But also due to the butterfly effect, many people will die as a distant result of things that happened Sunday night/morning
  4. This was the same team that in September split 4 games with the rays, then lost the next series to the royals and next series to the Red Sox. All while under pressure to hold the division They had to get really hot and get perfect performances from 80% of the team to get as far as they did Not to mention 3 top offences of our opponents going cold and their pitchers have a few bad games
  5. Nothing can be worse. Being big under dogs makes it worse. I have definitely tried to find the worst World Series losses and there is an argument this could be the worst one ever. You have the rangers and red Sox in 86 but those were both game 6s
  6. We are going to get mocked forever. Just like the rangers in 2011 I wish Ortiz didn’t egg Vladdy on to do the Yankees lose bit. Vladdy would never have done that if it wasn’t for Ortiz.
  7. Baseball isn’t about winning the World Series. Unless you want to switch teams 1/2 of baseball fans will probably never see a World Series win the next 50 years. It’s about being competitive and is there to give you hope, which is meant to be crushed. There’s a lot of fun narratives all season, follow players and stats, minor leagues etc, then it’s a lot of fun to bask in the misery of other fans being crushed every year. Enemy teams like the Yankees and going forward, the dodgers. You can’t blame these crappy teams who are bottom dwellers for abandoning watching all together, but I wouldn’t be surprised if alot of them have 2/3rd teams they support
  8. The more SP free agents the better for us. Flood the market.
  9. Neglect could be a reason to reneg on that contract. Let's hope Vlad had good lawyers and that he actually read the fine print. Atkins is shrewd.
  10. Cubs declining to extend Imanaga, now a free agent. Some of his numbers were rough yea but I think it was 3/57 they didn't want to pay.
  11. Leadoff run scores 38% of time, bases loaded 1 out 85% of the time they score. All at bats are different if Vlad was on.
  12. If AJ Pearzinski or Eric Kratz, or basically anyone on twitter was our coach we win the World Series. Anyone except Whit Merrifield and Tommy Pham. And you can't really trust Tommy Pham because he's a big IKF guy but hates the blue jays.
  13. I choose to believe Kike makes the catch and will not be watching it ever again I'm sure Dodgers had lots of missed opps too which we won't even remember.
  14. I don't know, risk reward is the reasoning But yea you cant imagine IKF is one to have a lot of confidence being where he is in his career
  15. This is a good video on it, they do think IKF done f***ed up. But one quote from AJ - at about 10 mins, is you can never worried about being doubled up on the bases. Reasoning that even if you are 3' off and you take that first step, you are cooked either way on a sharp line drive because of your momentum.
  16. Yea I do not like this narrative that this is a once in a lifetime group of guys and can never be replicated. Sure, for them though. I like to see them having fun but no fans are going to cherish memories of joking around in the clubhouse and interviews saying they love each other. That does not help me. If we win it doesn't matter, winning solves all problems And honestly I have the feeling the clubhouse is only such a nice place to be is because of guys like Ernie who don't have big egos with their 200m contracts. Sounds like he is mostly responsible for the environment there
  17. Rockies GM is maybe interested in Tarik Skubal Maybe they make a run at Bo because of the sentiment factor, Dante having played there Then 3-4 more good SP and a handful of bullpen arms and they got themselves a team
  18. What’s the incentive for Red Sox and orioles to give guys like Roman A and Basallo whatever deals they got, like 8 years? Is that just a thing for the poverty teams like sox and orioles or because arb ends up paying well for guys with good counting stat numbers but lower WAR?
  19. It’s funny because yea it’s just sports, none of it matters. But also, you will die one day so technically life doesn’t matters. We find things that give life meaning even though it’s all arbitrarily meaningless in the end. So it’s kind of like religion, you put a lot of belief into something that seems ridiculous to other people but that’s what keep you going. It also builds character to suffer. There is always an empty feeling after a season ends either way, it’s just magnified a bit. Baseball is my main focus 2/3 the year also so you can’t really fill that void easily. It does feel like my first breakup even though I only dated her one year, like the baseball season. You don’t think it will get better but in a couple months you will have forgotten all the bad feelings and be ready to be hurt again
  20. f*** the actual dodgers players, can’t be mad at a guy with HIV though. unless someone can point to some nefarious dealings I will support magic for the time being
  21. It would be nice to have him sure. But this team tries to avoid “difficult” players. He has an attitude problem. Most astros fans don’t like him.
  22. You remember in happy Gilmore, shooter is clearly the better player but Gilmore makes a crazy fluke put to win the tournament? well that’s what it feels like, Caleb Joseph summed it up with his “I don’t give it a s***, the better team didn’t win” Then Shooter grabs the jacket and runs only to get tackled. That is what it felt like
  23. Sliding head first and foot first is generally slower. Stat cast did a thing on it but it’s still debatable. Running through, you gotta adjust your step to hit the bag but it’s not going to slow you down much. Usually getting the runner at home on an infield ground ball doesn’t happen. It wasn’t a slow roller. So I don’t think we can blame IKF
  24. I think the bigger loss is that baseball is over. If the season started tomorrow we have optimism again. And as you can see from dodger fans after last year, they forget the championship pretty quickly and everyone moves on to the next season with the same expectations.
  25. We would have been like 95% to win with 1 out in the top of the 9th. 85% on scoring 1 run with bases loaded 1 out. That is 1/133 we blow both those opps. Going up 3-0 and losing 4 in a row would have been better. But there was also a few dozen other things that broke our way this playoffs like Hoffman holding it together, getting those 2 good games from Trey when he had been shaky in half his starts and winning the snell games. I don't think we were even odds on favourites in more than maybe 3/18 the games that we played all October. The pitching matchups basically were never in our favour, wouldn't be surprised if only the Gausman games against Seattle are the 2 where we would have been favourites.
