Don't know about O'Neill as you mention we don't know if they were in on him, signing KK kiboshed that likely. They tried getting Teo, he wanted a multi year deal and took the one year with LAD like anyone would rather play with a juggernaut.

I loved the 'Spos, have a Gary Carter Anniversary jersey. Jays were a juggernaut at the time, no-one can change that. Gillick's my man is all, he brought over a decade of exciting ball. ETA; The AL East will always be a tall order. 2015/2016 weren't 85-93 Jays. I was 10 years old through '83 and on getting Dominion tickets to the bleachers every weekend man, I collected beer bottles and cans every Saturday and Sunday with my pops walking my first dog at the time, just to have weekend tickets every homestand, it was my glory, lol.
