  1. CarlosDanger will be along soon to swear that the umps aren't biased.
  2. Time for an extra round of PED tests for Chapman. 102 at 37 is hard to believe.
  3. Maybe not yours or mine but some people see the last 3 games as the end of the world.
  4. People would be a lot more comfortable with this deal had he been raking this year. Unfortunately he's been raking the infield with ground balls instead. Hopefully this new stability is his life will take some pressure off and allow him to be a better version of himself. Theres no doubt about his hit tool when he's right, and he should still be improving at this age. Given the way baseball salaries are skyrocketing, there's a chance this deal looks like a bargain in 7 years or so.
  5. Next you'll be trying to tell me there's no bias in Raptors games.
  6. All that stuff you mention is baseball. An ump turning a judgement call in New York's favor is not. Your argument that the Jays players and management being mostly American precludes an umpire bias makes no sense. I've been watching baseball since the early 70s. I'm guessing long before you were born.
  7. That check swing call was absolutely brutal. Had Winker made contact it would have been a double! There's only one explanation for a call that bad and it has a lot to do with a New York team being the opponent. If that call is made Winker strikes out, Springer isn't hurt and the Jays probably win the game. Go ahead and claim there's no bias. I disagree. And it's worse when you play New York. And it's bound to be worse this year than before given all the recent events.
  8. The home plate umpire has missed at least a dozen balls and strikes both ways. There's been an American bias to the umpires for years. If you don't see it you're blind.
  9. Absolutely. The BS american biased umpiring is going to be a lot worse than usual this year. Guaranteed!
  10. Exactly! He says he won't negotiate anymore because he wants to concentrate on the season at hand and not be a distraction to the team. Meanwhile he's already dreaming about becoming a Yankee. Trade him!!
  11. Vlad isn't one-dimensional? He may not be aging yet but I'm betting his next contract will "age" in a big hurry. After the other day he's more of a liability than an asset.
  12. That says it all... The Blue Jays have given Vlad every opportunity to be the "Dude". As their supposed leader, where has he taken them? He says publicly that he wants to remain a Blue Jay, but the "Dude" recently turned down an absolute ****load of money to do so. Without any real negotiating from his side by the sounds of it. At this point the "Dude" is nothing more than a distraction to the team. I trust what my eyes tell me, and that interview to open spring training was an eye-opener to say the least. It's quite clear that this "Dude's" days as a Blue Jay are over. Best to trade him now and remove the distraction. The Mets reportedly showed interest so what better return than Alonso? If the Mets need to add something to balance the deal then so be it. The "Dude" needs to leave.
  13. So you're saying he didn't pad his numbers after the team was out of the race? He certainly did. Youre talking about high leverage within a single game. I'm talking about high leverage within a season. 2 completely different things. You obviously failed to comprehend my point before calling me out. In other words it's your ass doing the talking.
  14. I'm talking about go-ahead homer in the 9th inning of an NLCS game type of clutch. What did Vlad do when he saw playoff games? He certainly wasn't the aircraft carrier he claims to be.
  15. Besides the reasons I've already mentioned, there's this... Vlad seems to perform only when there's no pressure to do so. Last year is a prime example, his numbers were good as a whole, but the bulk of his production came when the team was out of the race. I would rather have players who perform in the clutch (see Freddie Freeman, Pete Alonso). I see Bo as this type of player long term as well. I like dirtbags, real ball players. Vlad just doesn't fit that description.
  16. Will anyone be sorry to see the Gatorade baths gone? What about the balls going through his glove at first? Or the bone headed baserunning? How about the post-game interviews where he only seems to talk about himself? Yes, he's been a pretty good hitter, sometimes! He also has extended stretches of hitting nothing but ground balls when he tries to pull everything. I've always felt that the FO liked Bo better than Vlad. Last year aside, I think it still may be the case. Bo had a bad season but he was injured and had personal (family) issues. I think a Bo contract will age a lot better than a Vlad one ever would. His value is low right now so what better time? The Mets showed interest in Vlad so let's find out what his value is right now. How about a baseball trade where Alonso comes back?
  17. Watching Vlad's interview just now confirmed my suspicions about him. He's all about Vlad! He doesn't understand what a negotiation is. He has his number and not willing to move. They weren't even close according to him. I wonder if he understands what a trade is because it's coming.
  18. I said heads would roll after the first Red Sox sweep. I said it again after the Cleveland sweep. Nothing happened. Something has to give after this Fenway fiasco tonight. Doesn't it? The entire team has underperformed at the plate for a year (or more) and they don't turf the hitting coach. The front office has failed miserably at fixing the on field product and no changes made. Now Schneider is obviously panicking and the moves he's making are consistently backfiring. Going to Tim Mayza tonight was a panic move. It was the wrong move. His bullpen management has been atrocious all year. But it all comes down to the offense not scoring like they should. I'm certain head(s) will roll now. Who might it be? Have a good one.
  19. Lord help us!! It won't matter since he'll be hurt too with this bullpen mismanagement.
  20. John Schneider has no clue how to run a bullpen. None! I've had enough of seeing guys get up and not used over and over again. He gets guys up in the 6th and then brings them in 2 innings later sometimes. He's brutal. It's time for him to go and take the hitting instructor with him. It's no wonder the best bullpen arms keep getting hurt.
  21. If youre wondering how they're cheating, look no further than pitchcom. I'm sure there are whiz kids on plenty of team payrolls that have figured out how to intercept the signals. I also wonder if some batters aren't hearing the catchers speaker in a quiet stadium.
  22. Grow up? That's funny. I absolutely tune out every time these ads play.
