    Having trout on the team will just pay for itself in marketing dollars. Everyone will want to see the former best player in the league play.

    Would be cool to have trout. Ohtani would have to strike trout out with just 1 pitch per their agreement for the final out of the 2025 World Series. Trout wanted ohtani to challenge him Mano a Mano. At this point ohtani is just a reliever but the most dominant we’ve seen since Eric Gagne. Ohtani would throw a change up and trout would give him a look. That wasn’t the agreement. Then he throws a fastball, 100.5 mph, and we see a drive deep into the night, trout finally getting his World Series win. Touch em all Mike.

    He won’t be opting out at any point. Once he’s a few years in no way he finds anything better from 33 or 34-40

    I am just glad this whole processed exposed ohtani for being a terrible human. Not going to feel bad when he regresses and doesn’t make the hall of fame and calls Mike trout crying every couple months because he’s so lonely on the dodgers and everyone hates him now. f***ing pathetic ohtani. I hope you see this. You aren’t an ace pitcher

    Does anyone know of the coffee maker they were advertising a few weeks ago has a warranty? The filter thing doesn’t fit so it’s spilling coffee every morning but I can’t get a precise enough picture to prove it. Some mornings worse than others and I can’t pin point why. Figure anyone else who bought it can tell me? Before I pull the trigger on the back yard hammock stand I figure I would ask if anyone can review it for me as well. Don’t want to end up in the same situation with the coffee maker where it’s almost not worth shipping or hiring a coffee maker repair company.

    I’ve seen the verlander nudes but honestly would pay a couple bucks to see the ohtani ones. The verlander ones were free and can be found with minimal digging online

    Ohtani would make a great first openly out player ambassador. Brings in a whole new fan base too. I personally support that whole movement and it’s a shame some of these players have to live in secrecy.

    Next we will see league min contracts and players taking payment through their corporation as “other services” where they can retain income and avoid luxury tax all together

    The 700m figure is solely for his agent and bragging rights. Also maybe ohtani thinks we will be going into a deflation period and wants to wait for things to go down in price. I also don’t think he can be that smart considering he never learned English. I’ve travelled to poorest parts all over the world and basically everyone that age learned English. Everyone knows it’s the most important language especially if you know you will be a star baseball player wanting to come to USA

    If what Connor is saying is true and they have to put up escrow, then the dodgers aren’t actually saving any money, just some luxury tax? The agent probably takes his cut, unless he’s getting paid from sponsorship money.

    Any revenue for dodgers would be gross revenue, you need the free cash flow to pay out contract. Don’t know what margins would be, but if they get 25m revenue, 5 or 10m of that may be free cash flow. Just a business owner here and salaries are a deduction but maybe I’m wrong I don’t know?

    I would bet a line would be about 500 for ohtani innings if that was an even money bet

    Rogers wouldn’t want to defer because my phone contract is less than it was 10 years ago and I have 500x the data

    I think his agent just wanted highest dollar amount and convinced ohtani his endorsements being paid now, would make best tax sense to defer later since he won’t be spending that money anyway.

    He doesn’t care about interest because he took 100m-150m over what his market value should have been with injuries etc. he will probably be getting 30-50m in endorsements anyway so what does he care. Walk away in 10 years with 1b after tax if he invests it wisely

    I heard from someone he hired a team of guys, like 3-4 of them who just live in his basement suite and roll sushi all day. Eventually they will get a recipe he likes.

    What does Toronto have that you can’t get in a similar size city in the USA where you don’t need 15 times an average salary to pay for a house?

    I don’t think anyone in here is salty. It will be funny to see the dodgers have to eat 350m and trade him after not winning a World Series in 3 years though and ohtani being on the DL for half that time. All the while we will have new, better and more exiting Japanese superstars who will overtake him as the face of the league, probably as early as next year

    lol so they overpaid by 300m to save a roster spot but also he plays 2 positions so he is going to burn out faster
