  1. Yea this will be like Edwin going to the Indians all over again. But slightly worse.
  2. If you googoo “ohtani endorsements 2022” first link says he makes 40m. Then further down an article on mlb.com says 20m. I also read on bref it was 30m. So he doesn’t need the money. But the union won’t be happy if he takes less. His Asian probably wouldn’t be happy either since they work on commission
  3. I don’t think it’s the smartest signing financially but will be happy to have him. I remember when the best we could hope for in an off season was giving Edwin 4/80
  4. I could use 575gb, would definitely buy that plan.
  5. If the jays did get ohtani I’m just having a hard time understanding how it translate to extra tens or hundreds of millions of profit for the team. Not revenue, profit. Seems like there is a lot of sharing going on so somehow this money has to be made by Roger’s stealing ohtani endorsements or Japanese viewers giving money directly to the jays.
  6. Merch sale is mostly split other than stadium sales which wouldn’t have a high enough profit margin. Unless there are some type of sponsorship deals the jays will get a cut on to make up some of that.
  7. Is there any petitions to not sign ohtani. We could just get Aaron judge and gerritt cole from Yankees for manoah and Vlad and we are better off
  8. Ohtani will be lucky if someone gives him more than 550m. He will be lucky to see 500 innings the rest of his career and I would bet the under on that. Someone may give incentives if he can stay healthy and pitch 5+ years but would be shocked if someone is going to guarantee something like 60m over a decade. If having him was such a great revenue generator you’d think the angels chart for total generated wouldn’t look the same as pretty much any other team the last 20 years
  9. I make chilli that is enough for 2 people for 3 days, large servings. More like $40 though.
  10. If the jays bid highest for ohtani we would own him. That’s how it works. He is actioning his life rights for the next decade and we as Roger’s customers all get to own a piece of him.
  11. Agree 100%. I wish you were the only poster here. Usually just skip over all other posts.
  12. A couple prospects maybe. Who knows, could even be the next Vlad Guerrero jr. could be nothing
  13. Would prefer Soto to ohtani. Bo being gone would send a message to Vlad, unserious players not wanted. Maybe he gets his act together. Both would be a plus but that’s like maybe a 33% chance they pull that off
  14. Yea if we can get merrifield and belt, dump bo and Vlad for prospects, despite his gene pool and weight problems, I think we go far. There was a guy on tiktok throwing 98 at a carnival in the states somewhere.
  15. Always knew sherzer was a whiny bitch. Velocity is way up last couple decades and guys like George Kirby/young pitchers in general are just softer. It’s the whole generation that’s the problem. Ungrateful.
  16. Good thing he can afford insulin also. If he gets diabetes soon.
  17. I’m good with selling bo and Vlad. Guasman too.
  18. Deep down we all know Bo is a trash player, possible worse than Vlad in 24’ and has a major attitude problem, but Baez definitely isn’t bouncing back.
  19. Do you have proof of what time zone you were in last night? Like 2 credible witnesses and 2 references from each of them notarized that they would be credible. 2 references from each of them, so on.
  20. If ohtani is part of a baptist church we never wanted him anyway
  21. f*** Jake bauers
  22. Would bet a lot it won’t be more than 500m. The pitching can’t be relied on to pay that much more. If you are counting on pitching, it’s 3 good seasons max and probably not ace level for a whole 3 seasons.
  23. 2 seconds over the game, maybe save 3-5 minutes. But, only 162 games and more if some people here watch multiple games, that could be 500-1000 minutes per year. Assuming average salary here of about 200k because it’s a nerd forum, everyone is making about $100/hr. The mlb just gave everyone here at least $1000 of productive time back per year. S and P 500 gained about 30% in 2021 just picking a random year. So we can go ahead and plug that into the compound interest calculator - for the next 50 years. $11,961,118,364.98 !
  24. Last thing we need is more nepotism on this team. Would be nice to have some players who were drafted for skill and not just as favours ala Mike pizza
