  1. Happy we had warm body McShit last night instead of another bat to throw at Gore like Lantigua or Orelvis?
  2. Grichuk and Bader would be the best fits for what the Jays need IMO, but I would also take Lopez and/or Moore.
  3. Jays should place claims on Grichuk, Lopez and Moore. Grichuk especially would fill a massive need for this team down the stretch.
  4. Yikes. Espitrash and McTrash is definitely weird lol.
  5. There actually is an everyday spot open for him as long as Bo or Chapman remain out. Lantigua's bat is like a Schneider-lite in the sense that it plays better vs RHP than LHP despite Lantigua batting right. Clement hasn't hit righties well so far in his career. Should be lineup vs RHP: RF Springer DH/1B Belt 1B/DH Vlad 3B Schneider 2B Whit LF Varsho C Jansen/Kirk SS Lantigua CF KK Should be lineup vs LHP: RF Springer 2B Schneider 1B Vlad DH/C Jansen LF Whit C/DH Kirk 3B Clement SS Lantigua CF Varsho/KK And with 6 of the next 8 games projected to be against LHP starters, the team could have even called up Orelvis for this stretch to see what he's got instead of continuing to DH Kirk vs LHP on non-catch days even though he has a sub-100 wRC+ vs both lefties and righties this season.
  6. Who cares if McCoy is, because Lantigua is also good at defense at SS/3B so he should have been called up instead. Also Orelvis should be up too with Espinal banished to Buffalo.
  7. This could have been the lineup today with the Jays facing a lefty: RF Springer 2B Schneider DH Vlad LF Merrifield C Jansen/Kirk 3B Orelvis 1B Clement SS Lantigua CF Varsho/KK Instead we have to watch Espitrash and Kirk both continue to get in the lineup vs lefties with sub-100 wRC+ vs LHP this season.
  8. I'd be happy to be wrong as McCoy shouldn't even be on this roster today let alone past the 1st. Your DFA guess would be a safe one, except I've heard there's a possibility Zulueta could be phantom 60-day IL bound like Otto Lopez, which would mean Atkins can potentially free up a 40-man spot for Chad Green without DFAing McCoy. I guess we're gonna have to see but I hope you're right, McCoy is beyond trash.
  9. McCoy is going to stay past the 1st, for no good reason. Orelvis and Lantigua could be getting some good reps right now as 6 of the Jays next 8 games are projected against LHP starters.
  10. Wtf is Mason McCoy doing here? This should have been an Orelvis or Lantigua callup. Also why the f*** is Espinal still here?
  11. Espinal shouldn't even be on the active roster right now, or even when rosters expand in September. The team playing Schneider and Clement at 3B/SS with Bo and Chapman both hurt tells you exactly what they think of Espinal right now, but they should take it a step further. Atkins should option Espinal for Orelvis today, with 6 of the team's next 8 games projected to be against LHP starters. It should be easy to get a bat like Orelvis into some games consistently over this next stretch and see what he's got, especially with rosters about to expand in 3 days.
  12. Seems like Biggio has fallen out of favour with the team once again. He isn't even starting today at home against a non-high velo RHP when he easily could have slotted in at 2B instead of KK playing, moving Whit to LF and Varsho to CF.
  13. Considering the Jays are basically admitting Espinal is completely useless now (starting Clement at SS against a RHP when Clement himself doesn't even hit righties well), they might as well have just optioned Espinal as well and selected Lantigua's contract from the minors, unless they're saving the open 40-man spot for Chad Green and they don't have any other phantom 60-day IL candidates besides Otto Lopez. There's little point in a Barger callup right now because 6 of the next 9 starters the Jays are projected to face are LHP, even though he's already on the 40-man.
  14. If Bo and Chappy both need IL stints I want to see Espinal optioned and Barger, Clement and Lantigua all called up. 3 bats at once who are untainted by Guillermo Martinez.
  15. Relevant context I want to include below this post: ever since Vlad Sr's obese son returned from his wrist injury on May 9th he has -0.4 fWAR in 405 PA, which ranks dead last among the position players currently on the active roster during this time. Espinal is 2nd last with -0.2 fWAR in 150 PA. For his season fWAR to be -0.5 I guess he had a really bad April. Something else I randomly noticed is Davis Schneider already has 1.1 fWAR in only 44 career PA! Main point is, Atkins needs to option Espinal and call up Clement asap.
  16. Where are all the Shatkins bootlickers/positivity trolls right now?
  17. Season's over. Minimum 2 games were needed in this series.
  18. Belt and Whit have terrible career splits vs Syndergaard.
  19. Schneider is completely f***ing braindead for taking Davis out of a game they weren't event leading.
  20. Chapman middle finger inflammation again.
  21. If Chapman and Bo are both hurt I wanna see Barger and Rafael Lantigua called up. Espinal cannot be playing everyday under any circumstances.
  22. If Bo is hurt again it's Barger time.
  23. Easily KK. He isn't even part of the RHP lineup. He only starts against high-velo (95+) righties specifically because both Biggio and Schneider struggle with that, and in ballparks like Camden Yards where they want the extra defense in LF with Varsho instead of Whit. The RHP lineup was the one we saw on Thursday against Baltimore when they were desperate for some offense after the stinker the night before. Prior to this game, Varsho/KK had started every other game at Camden Yards this season in LF/CF: LF Whit SS Bo DH Belt 1B Vlad RF Springer CF Varsho 3B Chapman C Jansen/Kirk 2B Biggio The most realistic way to get Schneider into this lineup almost everyday is if he just takes Biggio's spot at 2B, but reason why Biggio has been getting a lot more playing time against righties is because ever since he made some changes to his plate approach in mid-May, he has a 138 wRC+ vs RHP in 132 PA since then. On top of that he has a career 105 wRC+ vs RHP, so Schneider (John) up until this point has probably just been chickening out and deferring to Biggio's "consistent track record" over the possibility of what Davis could be with more consistent playing time.
  24. Surprised the ump didn't f*** over Chapman there.
