  1. That's true except hitting is more of an art whereas base running is more fundamentals. if only the damn bats would wake up...
  2. You can always make a case based on outcomes but over the long term you will get burned. Baseball history. Straw has to run over the situations before the pitch, # of outs, the score, the batter, who's on base, arms, 3rd base coach signs....etc There's alot happening that we don't see. On that play the ball was in front of Realmuto he pounced on it pretty quick. Straw made the right call.
  3. How do you hit that into the ground? it was at the very top of the strike zone
  4. straw scores on a base hit, 3rd or 2nd makes zero difference
  5. 3.02 pitches per plate appearance, that's crazy for a .300 hitter
  6. How does the 1st base ump get that wrong? he had so much time to set-up for the call
  7. haha yea, I looked up after posting and I see Ernie in the field lol
  8. I'd rather have your regular infielders behind Max
  9. let's get on those sticks boys and get Max the lead
  10. Pinango Valenzuela Sanchez lead the team in wRC+ keep any hitting instruction far away from them lol
  11. Never understood Springer as a fulltime DH - put him in RF or even center. This might also wake up his bat.
  12. "it was circumstances not performance that led to the demotion" LMFAO
  13. I like the fact they're willing to experiment, lead him off - different perspective, a way to clear his mind from the 3 slot and a good way to do it without giving him a day off which we know won't work
