  1. The Dodgers could afford to release him because they have the BEST development system in the majors and were confident at replacing him, unlike the Jays. Also not a sure it's a fair comparison They are different players with different swing "styles" Dodgers hitting philosophy was based on (and still is) getting the ball in the up in the air - this philosophy started from the low minors and continued upto to the majors. It has worked wonders with many players - Chris Taylor, Muncy, Turner to name a few. Unfortunately for whatever reason Bellinger wasn't able to adjust once the league figured him out. He has been much better this season. I don't know Jays hitting philosophy, like everything they do it's secretive - as far as I can tell it's not the same as what the Dodgers preach but more of "use the entire field" "go the other way" "up the middle"...etc This might reduce Vlady's power numbers - it will and it has - but at least it will keep his OBP and BA fairly high or at least above average. Is he a beast like we all thought he would be - right now he is not. All is not lost though he's still a special talent. and my question still stands....replace him with who?
  2. we start moving guys down pretty soon no one will be batting 1,2,3;)
  3. and replace him with who exactly?
  4. He's on the wrong team, just look at how many bats this team has developed in almost 8 season under this FO. An argument can be made Vlady doesn't need development - but maybe the messaging has messed him up.
  5. Would anyone be really surprised? being s***** at about everything they do for the past 10 years
  6. where have you been. Manoah calls the shots here not Atkins and certainly not Schneider
  7. I agree on this, all the resources in the world there's zero excuse to not be in shape coming into the season. I think teams (or at least the Jays in this case) don't want to mess with success. This goes for Kirk as well - silver slugger all star and now a bench bat
  8. I'm joking on his arm but not on his catching skills, he's a great receiver - very soft hands and very queit behind the plate. Jansen on the other hand with all that arm action constantly jerking his glove up and down is a far worse receiver. This is actually a skill and not all catchers have it. of course Jansen is not THE problem but in this stage in Manoah's comeback I would have liked to see Kirk behind the plate just to give Manoah every oppotunity to succeed.
  9. Kirk has a canon but in this case I'm referring to his catching skills, thought that was obvious
  10. I question using Jansen to catch Manoah, he needs all the help he can get why chance it, should have started Kirk. but I get wanting both Belt and Jansen in the lineup which would leave Kirk on the bench - man has he fallen off. Kirk has to catch Manoah for his next start
