    In general it's the complete opposite - you need to challenge your top prospects - you promote from level to level for that reason.

    I just hate to see it, unlike position players it takes such a long time for a pitcher to come back from arm/shoulder issues - and sometimes they never come back or if they do are never the same.

    it makes perfect sense Atkins said fixing the offense was on him (2 years ago) - he went out and very quietly landed 2 hitting coaches (ex dodger coaches - you should do a deep dive on both coaches see what they're all about). and here we are today, team is #1 in numerous offense categories. Don't worry about 2 years from now, every coach is hired will eventually be fired. LA fans are currently calling for their hitting coach to be fired...

    the dodgers love the fastball, I bet he's throwing more fastballs, less breaking balls. could explain the above(?) He was lights out last season
