  1. He’s blown a bunch of games and given endless rope to players in the lineup (like Springer still batting cleanup). It doesn’t matter. This isn’t a serious organization. Maybe if Atkins could develop any pitching at all then Schneider wouldn’t have all these awful pitchers to keep putting in.
  2. Meh. There’s a 0% chance we win any of these games in Boston anyways.
  3. Their inability to score is comical at this point.
  4. One could also say he brought back the same team in 2025 that finished in last place the previous season, but got lucky by a fluke season where everyone over performed and now they’re back to the norm. It’s tough to excuse a last place finish with a top 5 payroll, let alone twice in three years. They also didn’t win a single playoff game in 3/4 of those appearances you mentioned. My biggest issue is the pitching. They haven’t been able to develop any pitchers in the decade he’s been here (outside of Manoah for 1-2 years and now Yesavage). We are relying on guys like Scherzer and have nothing in our system to navigate injuries. Didn’t he promise wave after wave of talent like the Rays and Brewers have?
  5. Leadoff walk comes around to score of course. Would be nice if the offense could get a baserunner.
  6. Maybe tomorrow they’ll both be on…or off. Either way, I was impressed Bieber pitched around two leadoff doubles.
  7. I wish last year never happened. Total fluke that saved the job of a GM who should have been fired already. The heartbreak wasn’t worth it.
  8. Kay handing them free base runners every inning and no surprise they can’t capitalize.
  9. I see we’re getting whipped as usual. This team has been complete misery since game 5. Sucks we’re stuck with Shatkins for the foreseeable future.
  10. Padres only XBH the last two games was a solo home run yesterday. Outside of that they scored 12 runs on 14 singles. This team just keeps finding ways to lose and we’re probably stuck with this front office for years now.
  11. France and Looerfido have both beat us with home runs. The baseball gods have been punishing the Jays since game 6.
  12. Back to back 3 pitch Ks when a sac fly scores a run. Gotta love it.
  13. Stieb lost 3 no hitters and 1 perfect game in the 9th before he finally threw one. Two of those no hitters were back to back starts and he lost them both with 2 outs. The perfect game was also lost with 2 outs. Have to wonder if he's in the hall of fame conversation if he finishes a couple of those and if he gets the Cy Young he deserved in 1982 (he honestly could have won every year from 82-84).
  14. Dave Stieb is the only one to do it. Unless you're asking who the last person to get it to the 9th was. That would be Bowden Francis twice in 2024. Brandon Morrow gave up a hit with 2 outs in the 9th.
  15. If any game has the potential to be a turning point, it's this one.
  16. A no hitter would be fun, but I wouldn't be sending Cease back out there at 106 pitches. Don't want to risk injuring your best starter.
