He has zero self awareness. He does not realize that he is a 0.5 WAR player. He thinks his teammates actually like him. He thinks he is fast and is a great base runner.
So trade the affordable ace, star SS, and reliable #3 so that there is a 10% chance in two years that we have an affordable ace, star SS, and reliable #3?
The roster needs a couple of changes, not a major overhaul.
Out of all the mistakes made this game, giving the green light to sub 600 OPS Espinal to swing in a 3-0 count is the most infuriating one. There has to be accountability for objectively clear mistakes like this. If Espinal did it on his own, then demote him. If John Schneider gave him the green light, then fire him. There is no room for idiots in a team already burdened by fat players.
While I hate seeing the Blue Jays lose, I will focus on the silver lining if this blows up spectacularly in Schneider's face. That f***ing oversized leprechaun needs to go.
Probably. I am mainly looking at Horwitz's BB% and SO% and they indicate there is a good chance he would not be overmatched in the majors. He is unlikely to be a star, but hopefully can produce similar results to Noda.
There is no question that the O's are better than the Jays. What is frustrating is the fact that we have key players playing at replacement level or worse. Manoah, Vlad, and Kirk have performed around 8 WAR worse than expected collectively. Fat f***s. All the key O's players are playing close to median expectation or better.
What losses? He is costing the Jays nothing while playing in the minors. If he wants to figure things out, he'd have to try that in the Jays farm system until he is out of options.
