  1. Any Jays fans excited the Bills may be coming back to Toronto while the new stadium is built?
  2. Marlins' announcers trying to use advanced metrics to to convince Marlins' fans that the team is actually better than the standings say. Love metrics, but sometimes your record shows exactly who you are.
  3. Because they are entitled babies who are use to getting their way? Looks like one of the kids in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
  4. You'd have more Blue Jays fans there if they weren't killing people on the price of tickets and concessions. Tickets for the Yankees games were going for upwards of $249 dollars per ticket. Only Yankees fans are dumb enough to buy at that price. The Blue Jays also raised the price of concessions, a beer is now going for $18. When its not the Yankees or Red Sox, Blue Jays fans will be willing to go to the games. But no way am I paying $249 for a seat.
  5. Hardly an article. More of a snippet of an op-ed. That said, the opinions are dead on. Montoyo, and the organization as a whole are wasting their stars. Team is way to reliant on the long ball to win ball games, and that wont fly if they are able to make it to the playoffs. Do they have a problem in the Bullpen, yes a massive one, but it goes beyond that. They have holes behind the plate, at 3rd base, and in the outfield. They are a Vlad slump away from being way south of .500
  6. That is exactly what I meant. Thank you.
  7. The balls are rotated throughout the game. As I said in my other post, even in 12u you start with Six game balls, plus what the UMP has. If the ball touches the dirt when pitching, yes they are give one of the other balls.
  8. When did you play baseball? Thats a serious question. Because I havent played ball in 12 years now and every game I've pitched from High School through College (Division III), started the game with multiple games balls held by each team, and the Ump had a sack full of game balls as well. You make it sound like everyone outside of the pros are using the ball the Beast chewed up in the Sandlot, its not accurate at all. I coach my sons 12u team now and they even start with six brand spankin new balls, not including the others the ump keeps.
  9. Dont you think its a bit arrogant to assume no one on this board has ever pitched before? I would assume that many of us have, either in Little League, High School or College. Now, I am not saying those things are the same as the Majors, not even close. However, a game always starts with a brand new ball, and in my experience anytime a ball hits the ground, the Ump throws you another new ball. Its the way the game works. These guys have legal things to help them grip the ball, they need to use those. Anyone making up excuses for them, is, in my opinion, on the side of cheating and petulance. On the Gerrit Cole thing, I am in no way implying he wouldnt have made the majors. He has tremendous physical talent. But if he is that emotional because he cant grip the thing he is being paid millions to GRIP and THROW, then maybe he shouldnt be doing that. What I am saying is if he doesnt like the rules of the game, he can move on. I am also implying he may have cheated to achieve his level of talent given the fact he had one season of sub 3.00 ERA prior to going to Houston. The guy was 19-22 in the two years before he moved on from the Pirates. What I am saying is he went from being a decent pitcher to being a great pitcher by cheating.
  10. I've literally watched a one handed mechanic fix cars before. If he can grip a wrench well enough to do his job, I think the baseball pitcher can get by without cheating. If you cant grip the ball without using a substance, you probably should have never made it to the pros. They need to stop justifying the cheating and start recognizing that maybe they just need to figure it out or move on. I could win a sprint if I was allowed to drive a car when everyone else had to run. However, I've never been in a sprint because I am slow and am not allowed to use a car. This is the generation of no consequences. Sorry man, nowhere is it written that Major League Sports need to bend rules to ensure their players have a better shot at being great. You're either great or your not.
  11. Like watching a Sabres GM trying to figure out if they should buy free agents or build through the draft. Nothing works.
  12. I have never been convinced that Brett Gardner and Gary Sanchez aren't the same person...
  13. The name alone is enough for me to want him benched.
  14. Uh Oh. Dolis warming up. Flashbacks of the Red Sox.
  15. They've spent the entire game talking about how he still gets to 100 mph without the banned substances. Never watched a broadcast that gave me both gas, and the sleepy nods at the same time.
  16. Agree. Its odd how rarely they charge the ball, and even more odd how often they miss the throw to first.
  17. Yankee broadcasters talking about how "unprofessional" it was. These guys arent engineers, they are ballplayers. Give it a break.
  18. Dead on. Love Bo, but the entire left side of our defense kills me.
  19. Just people from Buffalo with too much money and not much real interest in baseball. Said it here the other day. People from WNY should detest the Yanks, the exact opposite of blue collar and hard work.
